No matter how out of hand a child gets, no matter how much they get on your last nerve... that is NO EXCUSE for what was done to this poor little boy!

I'm all for spanking (my son gets spanked) but what could this child POSSIBLY HAVE DONE to have deserved this?!?!?!

Amen. I wish legislators would get a clue and stop abolishing the death penalty.

And I'm not reading that story because I don't feel like being upset today.

A good friend of mine in Maine was a detective with the Maine State Piloce, who have jurisdiction over all murders and crimes against children. He told me many times those are the worst because you know they did it. He wanted to take them out in a field and just shoot them but his bosses frowned on that.

I'm a liberal and I'd still shoot him.

His bosses probably frowned on that because murder is still illegal in all 50 states.

In My Opinion
If it was determined that the boy friend was the only one home at the time, and as soon as the bruises became more pronounced the mother took the baby to the ER, I dont understand why at this point the child is in protective custody pending a hearing to determine who will care for the child from this point on.

can someone that knows how this works explain this to me?
Is the mother under investigation also at this point?

There probably checking to see if there's any history on this guy. Also checking to see IF the mom left the child with him knowing this guy had a history of this kind of behavior. Cases like this are often the culmination of a series of lesser incidents.

Even IF she didn't know if he had a history; if she's stupid enough to believe

"He fell off the couch honey", then she's too stupid to be allowed to breed.
