I think thats a perfect size, if you had gone larger, you would have needed a larger septic system for it.

My boys always wanted a treehouse fort. I told them we'd need a tree (my yard has none). So now they nag their dad for one.
12x12 is quite modest. I assume he wants the "Codename: Kids Next Door" model?

I did, I didn't want to have to use 8X8's to support the weight. With the mini-hot tub and sauna I was pushing it.

What is cool is I was going to go on the smaller side UNTIL I heard him talking to the other neighbor kid bragging that "My dad can build ANYTHING, he is the greatest......well next to my Grandpa." After that the size doubled.
