"In-a-Gadda-Da-Vida" - Iron Butterfly...because it's sunday morning, it's cold outside, and it goes well with Skyrim.

I know there was a thread around here about music by and for the troops, but I'll be hanged if I can find it. This is Air Force rock band Locked and Loaded.

In a mellow mood and revisiting some new age artists tonight. One of my favorites is Andreas Vollenweider on the harp:

"Best Guitar Solo Ever (nobody else on youtube ever made that claim!)" is pretty subjective.

Jimi Hendrix and the Band of Gypsies "Stone Free" from 1970.

You are on a Louisiana roll tonight. I saw Jimmy in concert at The Warehouse. I didn't know I was seeing a legend at the time. Awesome blast from the past. Thanks, BOP!

That would have been too cool to see him. :yay:

I'm just confused as the website only lists one concert and says it was canceled. Did he play there multiple times and they don't list them all?

Exactly. I saw him there. And, I saw the listings of who has played there over the years. So, I can't explain it. I just know I saw him there.

Oh, I'm sure a lot has been lost over time and don't doubt you saw him there. Hell, I can't remember half of the names of the people/groups of the concerts I've seen over the years.

Sure looks like the 70s were definitely rocking that venue. :yay:

You know what really scares me is my daughter is having her bachelorette party in the French Quarter. I grew up in NO and said I would never raise my children there. Now, she wants to go back to my roots. I made the reservations in the safest accommodations I could find! New Orleans is a wonderful place and full of rich history, but has drastically changed over time. And, no, I am not going. My helicopter blades have been chopped!

I've been there 4 times, hope for a 5th soon, and have never had a problem.

Well, other than the last "hotel" we stayed at and even on the 4th floor the noise from the ground floor reception area and nearby Bourbon Street venues kept me awake until 4 in the morning.

Preservation Hall! What NO is all about. I know you love jazz. This is for you. Don't you love the down home of it all!
