Superintendent Jeff Lampert said that although the teacher's apparent goal _ to discuss the harmful effects of pornography _ was well- intentioned, he agreed with parents that the assignment was inappropriate for 14- and 15-year-old freshmen at Brooklyn High.

The assignment asked students to research pornography on the Internet and list eight facts about pornography. Students also were asked to write their personal views of pornography and any experience they had with it.
Yet the teacher will face no punishment for this crap. :ohwell:

It's pretty sad when you have to watch what your children learn in school. It seems as though our kids are being desenitised to all the things that are so far from good moral standards.

What's worse?! The school finding out that you were possibly using their computers for your own pleasure or, as a responsible figure to these children, directing them to do exactly what they should NOT be doing?

Why not have recess in the middle of a busy street? I suggest Leap Frog:faint:

This assignment was bogus... most 14 and 15-year old kids already should be able to list eight facts about Internet porn. If they can't, they aren't being teenagers. That should have been an in-class assignment.

Why shouldn't you be watching what your kids learn in school. That's why they have things like the PTA. YOU are still ultimatly responsible for your childs upbringing. I know that when I have kids I will be all up in the schools business to make sure that they are doing a good job at teaching not only my children, but the children of everyone in the comunity.

Be prepared to quit your job and dedicate your life to it.

#1 - they DO NOT want to hear from you, nor do they want you interfering in their brainwashing. They will avoid your calls and refuse to make appointments to see you.

#2 - you will be fighting not only the teachers and the principals, but other parents as well, who think that anti-American protests and porn research are appropriate classtime activities.

Your complaints will very seldom bring satisfaction. Fortunately, problems are rare and conflicts do not happen often. But when they do, getting them resolved is frustrating.

PTA - what a joke :roflmao: PTA is more of a group you join and become a big wheel in so your kid won't face punishment if they get in trouble. They don't have a lot to do with curriculum, at least not up here.
