I thought they had opened a 2nd location, but they have just moved to the one new location in West OC. Talked to Denny-O yesterday. They just moved end of summer.

A week from today, hubby and I will be at the ocean. 
We may be bundled in tons of blankets and winter coats, lol, but we'll be there! 
I'm used to being at the beach in the chilly weather, used to go to the ocean year round up on Long Island. Each season has it's own beauty by the water. I really miss living 10 minutes from the ocean and I could walk to the great south bay in a minute. No place beats the beach.

Have a great time! I love Halloween up there. Once our little man is old enough, I plan to take him to the haunted house in Wading River. Hubby has never been there either (he's from Delaware). I'm sure you've been to it, right? You lived out in the sticks, not far from it.

One town over, Shoreham. I'll see if I can talk my friends into going. I'm bringing my projector and movies, might try to have an outdoor horror fest if the weather is decent.
My inlaws will be visiting next weekend to babysit so hubby & I can go to Ocean City for a date night. With hubby's work schedule, we can't go Fri or Sat. So we'll get there early Sunday, spend all day/night & probably leave Monday around 2pm to get back to our little boy.
Being that it's off season and that we'll be there on a Sunday night, I hope there are still some things to do/see even though it'll probably be pretty empty there. We're looking forward to some drinks, warm uninterrupted dinnerlol
My mom lives there part time and in Georgetown part time although she is finding in the off season, she would prefer to be in OC. I will ask her what is going on down there. I think there is a thing called the OC guide that has alot of info on activities, I am not sure if it is online or not. I also am not sure when they shut down the boardwalk? They may have already I don't know.
Its always fun to go over into Delaware and play the slots too!

My suggestions are:
You can watch the old people walking the boardwalk.
Go out to eat.
Come back to the hotel
Watch the old people walking the boardwalk
Walk down the boardwalk WHILE watching the old....well, you get by now.
I've been there every year since 1960 and I still enjoy it. I've been there in the off season only 3 times and it was a ghost town compared to the summer. There were some young kids there (probably with their grandparents). Some of the boardwalk shops are closed but many of the restaurants "on the strip" are open. A call would save you a trip.
Every year I get 2 small booklets from our hotel with the names of almost all of the restaurants and hotels in it. They're called: "Sunny Day and OC restaurant guide". They're free and well worth it.

I just got back from there in mid december and it's a ghost town. Not many restaurants are open.. most have signs on there saying, "See ya next season!". Even Phillips restaurants are all closed. We mostly did outlet shopping and walking on the beach. It's cold, but you get the entire beach to yourselves and the seaguls. I even took off my shoes and socks and stood in the surf. The sand was colder than the water! I stayed at the Clarion and they have a delicious prime rib/crab legs buffet everynight. Pricey, but delicious! It was a nice break from reality, though.

Hey! I resemble that remark!!!! Actually, Hubby and I have been going there in the Winter for years (we've been married 27 years). There is definitely not much to do for someone looking to "party," but we have always been able to find a restaurant/bar to stop into and have a nice meal or play a game or 12 of pool!!! Pepper's has been our spot for the last 5 years or so. Within walking distance (less than a block) to our regular hotel haunt, and nice people. Good food too. Purple Moose can be fun in the Winter as well. You get to see where the locals go.
There's just something about sitting in a bar on the boardwalk and watching the cold, blustery wind and waves crashing outside that makes it all worthwhile. My goal is to be there during a snow storm one time. A good Nor' Easter would be great. Don't know why, but that is something I've always wanted to see up close and personal... On the Ocean Front!!

Pepper's is right on the boardwalk at 16th Street. You have to walk down some steps to go into it.

Just looked at the menu -- what do you recommend and how many people does it take to down one of those megaritas? (I don't think I could do it alone & make it back to the hotel under my own steam
