If you had a loaf of bread and two pieces of it got molded, would you.....

A. Throw the whole loaf away

or

B. Just throw the two pieces away and eat the rest of the loaf

I pitched the whole loaf away today and a coworker says she would of just pitched the two pieces.

Just curious to see what you would do?

...would have fed it to us anyway, removing only the parts he suspected we might see. "It's good for you, boy, eat it and be glad to have it."

So, if it's been sitting there what I think is too long and might be thinking about growing mold, I throw the whole thing out. I don't freak if I bite into a sammitch and see some green but I then throw it out.

Same with my hubby.

I'm like pixie anyway. I store bread in the frig and my husband HATES that, so his bread stays in the pantry. He likes it soft, so I give him his nice soft, moldy samwich, mold what mold? I didn't see mold.

I always buy the small size loafs, so if it does go bad, I am not throwing out a huge full size.

What's wrong with eating small quantities of mold?

Heck the "blue" in blue cheese is mold!

I throw the whole thing away. Even if you can't see any mold on the rest of the bread, the spores are already there and growing. :twitch:
What she said - I'd pitch the whole loaf.

Not a thing, but it has to be the RIGHT kind of mold. And I had bleu cheese on my burger at lunch. :yay:

I also store my bread in the fridge. I rarely freeze it because I hate when it thaws and the one side of the loaf comes out rock hard. :cussing:

What's the right kind of mold? I've never been able to taste mold that I can't see.

And I'm an American...it's blue cheese!

I keep my bread in the fridge because I'm a bachelor...so I have plenty of empty space in there

I only freeze potato rolls...unless they are in the freezer for a few months, they thaw out in perfect condition.

Don't throw it away... think of it as a preventative anti-biotic. :yay:

Or ... Blue Pumpernickel.

The one that I know is SUPPOSED to be there versus NOT SUPPOSED to be there.

Sorry, I'm American too and it's BLEU cheese. Americans have bastardized the language severely enough as it is. :neener:

It doesn't matter whether you're single or not. Bread just keeps better in the fridge. You can always find room for it.

I've never tried to freeze potato rolls. I only eat them rarely and then there are usually NO leftovers. :yum:
