IMHO ...
Famous Dave's
Road House in Laplata ...
Red Robbin is Great
Bonefish Grill between Waldorf and Brandywine. Typical corporate experience, same food as in Atlanta or any of the other locations.
Primestreet Grille in White Plains. A bit loud inside, good food.
Caseys in La Plata. Not so much the food but a bit more authentic ambiance.
The question should be: What is an 'acceptable' restaurant in the Waldorf area.
I enjoy silver skewers. It does not look like much from outside, but inside is a different story. The food is great, and great service. It is Persian food though.
Ouzo's right down the road in LaPlata...no peer....
We live in one of the best seafood areas in the world and you go there to get fish????
Where is a good place to get fish? After Rips/Annapolis seafood market closed down seems the only other options are Bonefish or Red Lobster in the area

Both places are a little pricey though. The last time I was at Silver Skewers they did not have an alcohol permit so also keep that in mind.
do you want cheap or good?
I'd actually like a place that is bothUnfortunately they are hard to find!
Unfortunately most people opt for cheap, which is why we have such a thin collection of good restaurants. "Famous Dave's" being a case in point - it sucks. Food there is dreck.
I haven't been to the Bonefish Grill in Waldorf / Brandywine. The Bonefish in Crofton is part of the same group as the Yellowfin (?) on Rt. 2 near Annapolis. Both I believe are part of a local (Maryland) group. Fish was fresh and well prepared. I've visited a lot of the local seafood places and most have disappointed - a few have been down right awful. Awful for both service and quality.
I agree I would never opt for Famous Daves when we have so many good local BBQ places around here. Once was enough for me
The Bonefish in Brandywine is delish!
I like Johnny Boys, Sarticks (sp) and Randys Ribs.As far as BBQ, Famous Daves to me is just so-so, as well as Lefty's which is overpriced for what you get. Where are the "good local BBQ places" you mentioned? Bonefish is decent. Surprised how hard it is to find really good seafood in area. Guess I need to venture further east closer the the Bay.
Bonefish Grill is a chain owned by the same company that owns Outback and Carrabba's.

The same reason I get my coffee at starbucks an not at that lovely neighborhood coffee-shop unless I know that their coffee is drinkable. Starbucks may not have the best coffee, but I know it tastes the same whether I go into a store in London, DC or Waldorf.
The question was about the 'Waldorf area'. I'll be all ear if you have a good recommendation for a seafood restaurant.
They have a spot in La Plata, next to the Food Lion in the Walmart complex.

The Thompson's in La Plata does not have the same good reputation the one in Mechanicsville does.
