What's with BB Cream?

I've had a few samples arrive in my BB and IB memberships and immediately tossed them aside. I decided to try one this week. It makes me look like I have a lot of foundation on and I'm a person that doesn't wear a lot of makeup. What's the deal w/this stuff? Does anyone use it religiously?

:howdy:

actually, I used BB daily for quite a while and recently switched to cliniques CC cream..it evens out the red I have in my face a little better than the bb creams. But if I didnt have so much uneveness..I would certainly still be using the bb..they even have matte finish ones now if youre not a fan of the "dewey" look the others produce.

a little does go a long way, though ive found. so maybe try using just a small amount? I have also noticed there is quite a bot of variation among brands as well. I like the garnier version

I do! at least on days that I bother with more than just mascara for makeup. I use it for several reasons:

1. sunscreen; has spf in it...mine has 30 spf
2. its kind of like a primer; I like loose powder, so if I put a little bb cream all over, the powder has something better to "stick" to?
3. It evens out my skin tone a little, I get a little rosacea (sp?) on my cheeks so they are red in the areas that I don't want to be
4. its supposed to "blur imperfections" and "enhance" which kind of goes along with evening out my skin tone.

I use Maybelline Dream Fresh BB cream. I like it a lot, but have been looking to try another brand now that this bottle is almost empty. If yours is making you look like you have a lot of foundation on, either you're being too heavy handed with it, or its just too thick of a formula. its s/b very light.

I use Bare Minerals daily and I've tried some BB creams and they just feel really heavy to me. I like to keep it in my pool bag to throw on just in case I need to do something after the pool but it makes my face feel like it can't breathe.

That's what I'm experiencing. It's very heavy and doesn't feel good on my face. I've given it a try a few times and it's probably just not for me.

Bingo. Maybe it's just because I'm not used to liquid make up. You still use Bare Minerals, right?

Chasey, if you moisturize first, then do the BB cream it's a lot lighter and more even.

I love BB cream instead of foundation because I don't need a lot of correction, just kind of a smoothing. My favorite!! face product is POREfessional by Benefit. The daughter turned me onto it and it spackles my pores so my face is nice and smooth. Most of the time I use just that over moisturizer.

My routine is cleanse, moisturize, BM. But the last few days it has been cleanse, moisturize, BB, BM. The BB cream I have is very, very heavy and I only use a small amount... not even the size of a dime on my entire face. It's icky!!

The Bare Minerals might be why its so heavy for you. I'm broke...and cheap....so I use the Avon version of BM powder  its much lighter. The BM powder is meant to have a foundation in it so you don't necessarily use both. If you think you need a BB cream under your BM, you'll need a much lighter formula. My Maybelline is fairly light and I try to use about half the size of a dime amount.

If I could afford Bare Minerals, I don't know as if I'd still need something like a BB cream.

I HATE makeup, but I use Maybelline Dream Fresh BB when needed. It goes on smoothly and you cannot tell that it is there.

BM is by far waaaaay cheaper than any liquid foundation I have ever used. I might order two containers of it a year.

It is because it lasts longer, but the initial price is waaaaay more expensive. If my skin continues to turn to crap then I will be spending the money on BM again.

BM started making my face itch a bit when I use it alone, ie not with a primer or BB..but only the matte version of the powder..my "reg" BM doesnt do it.

All those BB and primer creams make me break out. Has anyone tried Miracle Blur?

I am so very blessed
I just use regular old Noxema for my moisturizer.

It's inexpensive, works well for me, and I actually like the smell.

No one else does, but that's besides the point.

Me too. Been using it since I was a teen.
