When did parenting change like this?

When in the heck did parenting take a change in this direction?

My daughter has a friend who thinks it is all right for her minor daughter to be out all night, doesn’t even have to know where she is because they have an "agreement" that the daughter would not drink. Which from what I have seen she does not even uphold that.

On top of that, she does not care if her minor daughter is sleeping with a 20 year old man.

Am I that old fashioned to think that this is not the direction I want my daughters to go? The battles I have gone through in the last month or so are all based on how everyones parents let them do this and that some of the parents even sponsor house parties where the kids can come drink and smoke (fill in the blank).

Am I that strict a parent to want to know where they are, who they are with and give them a curfew in this day of age?

Not strict - you just are a PARENT.
I'm not looking forward to these days.
My daughter is just turning 9 and I've already made her cut ties with a kid who's parents don't parent. Granted it's not the kids fault and I feel for her situation but I don't want my child influenced by a kid that has no boundries.

I wish I would have thought about that when they were that age. I came in from work one day not tool long ago and the girls were sitting watching this show called bustem or something like that, laughing....

I sat down and watched....one of the scenes was right here in Calvert County. 21+ plus man having a party with many underage drinkers....

They acted like they could not care they got busted, and moreover was laughing about it...WTH is wrong with this wannabe gangsta's? For lack of a better word...

And to find out the mother lives there. How can she not know this was going on????
