When did your baby start to crawl and walk?

Reading the thread "teething concern" prompted me to start this thread. My son turned 8 months old today. It looks like he'll be starting to crawl pretty soon, he's sure trying! He's crawled backwards a few times and has been rolling all over the house for a while now. My Mom told me to enjoy this while it lasts,.

At what age did everyone's babies start to crawl and walk? I know it varies child to child. I'm not worried, just curious. I've also heard that some babies skip the crawl stage and go straight to walking.

My oldest never crawled...he went from rolling all around to all of the sudden walking at 11 months. Mr. No Teeth Yet isn't crawling either...he rolls everywhere he needs to go...and a lot faster than I can walk most of the time!

My 2nd child never crawled. She did an "elephant walk" with her hands and feet on the ground and her butt in the air. It was cute but unique!

He started rolling and scooting around 5 months, around 6.5 months started crawling. He started walking the day before he turned 1 and really was like walking. At his bday party he acted like he had been walking all along and was running with the other kids.

Both my kids crawled at 6 months. My son started walking a week before he turned 1. Daughter started a month before she was 1.

Basically what we are all trying to say is, it's different with every child. If he is not walking by 15 months I would ask the doctor to check things out, my guess is he will be. :howdy:

Oh yeah, I know every little one reaches their milestones at their own pace. I'm not at all worried about our son at this point. I think he'll be crawling within the next month, time will tell. He's got ridiculously strong little arms and legs. Not to mention 4 teeth!

My daughter crawled at 8 1/2 months. She walked at about 13 months.

I liked it when I could swaddle her and she wouldn't move for hours.

Do you have other children? If so learn by them. Do you have a pedatrician which I'm sure you do, ask him/her? Why ask the public? I never ever asked the public about how to raise my children or my family. THEY DON'T live with YOU!

:lmao:

Mine was cruising the furniture at 11 months.

I forgot all about the cruising stage! I looked it up -- I wrote "cruising like a pro!" on March 8, so she was 11 months-ish then. That stage made me a nervous wreck. She was always cracking her head on something! :bawl:

Wow buddy, time to get the stick outta your azz. Sorry if you're having a rough night, however, I was simply making conversation with the other parents on the forums. Please take a deep breath and chill out, then re-read my posts.

Feel free to quote where I asked anyone how to raise my son. I asked a simple question and specifically stated more than once that I'm not concerned about the fact that my son is not crawling yet. Reading comprehension clearly is not your friend tonight but that's ok. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day for you. :poorbaby:

I know, I miss the days when he would just lay his little head on my shoulder and go to sleep. He only does that once in a while now. :bawl: He prefers to sleep in his crib, which I guess is a good thing.

Glad you understood where I was coming from.

And I see that you can read and comprehend also. Thanks!
