When potty training...

You're not behind because if you are then I'm REALLY behind! Or, well, my son is behind. Not me, I'm trained =\

Thanks everyone, I think it's clear he's being lazy and maybe I am too:buddies:

Don't sweat it hun. Some kids are slower than others. Mine was 3 before he was fully potty trained and then still had issues wetting the bed until he was 5.

He was scared of falling in the "Big toilet" and hated the "Baby toilet" so I got the toilet adapter and step stool for him which worked great...just wish I had thought of it sooner...

I used M&M's and Cheerios to help with my son. I turned it into a game and he had to sink the Cheerios in the toilet and when he did, he got an M&M.

I also made him go to the bathroom with me every single time I had to go. Sometimes I would go in the bathroom when I didn't need to go and pretend and then tell him, "Awww *poutty face* no M&M for mommy...I didn't go peepee" and when I did go I got an M&M and he didn't. This made him mad because he wanted an M&M but I reinforced that you only get an M&M when you peepee or poopoo. He also went with his Dad when his Dad was home.

The only off setting part was when he wanted to watch Mommy sink the cheerios...He would run in ahead of me and toss them in the toilet for me...lmao

I'm late to the game on this thread. Don't despair!

My sister-in-law's youngest (girl) would NOT poop in the toilet - ever. She was completely potty trained, to the point of not needing a diaper, except to poop. And she could control her bowels. She was in pre-k at age 4 (half day) so the set up was my niece would go to school in panties and when she got home, my SIL would put her into a diaper, she'd do her deed and they'd swap back to underwear.
Kindergarten was full day, and the school called my SIL to talk about the "situation". They told her they'd have to see the school psychologist, because this wasn't normal. My SIL had tried everything she could think of and she was very frustrated, especially knowing that my niece had bowel control and that it seemed that she was just being willful (she is to this day). She got so frustrated that she grabbed my niece by both shoulders, gave her a little shake and yelled at her that it was time to start using the toilet.

So she did.
