I read parts of this thread and I voted.

Kris, if you are trying to form an opinion for yourself in this matter then I don't think you are ready to decide to have sex with anyone.

If you're on here for another reason then you should expect to recieve clouded answers to you questions.

If you are trying to get some man whores and ho's to change their evil ways, you should see your way quickly to the nearest short pier.

Do you have a point to make here? Are these threads going to turn religious?
Are you carrying a torch for Pete? Get in line honey.:ohwell:
I'm on here asking said questions as research for a paper I am writing for one of my classes on the shifting sexual persona.

I don't care if manwhores or hos wanna change any ways.

I have no religious agenda.

I'm not looking to form my own opinion... I voted in the survey just as sure as the other 70 people did.

So, are you just curious, or are you going to use some internet forum as a source? :eyebrow:

I fully intend to cite the source of an informal forum survey, yes.

And your professor will count this site as a credible source? Hmm....
why should a public survey not count as a credible source?

Because who knows how many MPDs are voting multiple times on this. I think you should go out and actually poll real people.

I'm curious, because I know the general society trends are changing... when is it appropriate to have sex when you're dating someone if you want the dating to turn in to a relationship?
I didn't have time to read all 20-some-odd pages of this, but I'll weigh in with my idea:

When you're ready to raise the other person's child, with or without him or her; and, when you're ready to accept that you may receive some horrible disease from the person (because we all know there's only one way NOT to get STDs - some things may make them less likely, but only one way makes it impossible), then you are ready to start thinking about sex with that person.

Why do you want to take all the fun out of everything... Just kidding. This is too true to be funny. I had a conversation with a friend who has a 17 year old daughter who is sleeping with her 18 year old boyfriend.... Yikes!!! What do they think will come of this? A long term relationship? A marriage that's full? Uggggghhhh...

At what age to you think it becomes appropriate for people to engage in sexual relations?

You know I used to think it was when you felt you were ready. But now looking back - when you're in the moment you may think you're ready, but you probably are not ready for all the ramifications that can happen..
pregnancy, stds., the emotional trauma..

I don't know that there is a clear cut age. I really don't know the answer. Sorry.

I lost my virginity at the age of 17.

Looking back now... do you wish you would have waited?
Honestly not at all. I had been with him for over a year before it happened, and he's still a key factor in my life today. We've been though heaven and hell together, and he's still my best friend despite our not being a couple anymore.
