Where are my "Bush Bucks?"

I was at the register of wills office today and asked the clerk about a friend who's father died in December. Since he'll get a tax refund added to the estate, would he also get Bush Bucks added to the estate account?

She said that's a good question.:ohwell:

What happens if someone files taxes for last year and dies? Do they still get it??
...
Q. If an individual dies, what happens to his or her direct deposit or stimulus check?

A. Stimulus payments will be issued in the name of the individual eligible for payment on a filed 2007 income tax return or to the account designated by the individual on that return. This includes situations where a person dies after filing a return or where the final 2007 income tax return was filed by a personal representative or surviving spouse. Any issues or concerns involving a decedent's filed return or the related stimulus payment should be addressed by the legal representative of the decedent's estate. See Publication 559 for more useful information for survivors and personal representatives. [Updated 3/17/08]

Got mine in the mail last Fri. No griping or moaning here. Bought a new HP laptop with my extra dough. (HP Pavilion DV9810US, $699., at Staples!)

Matter of fact, I'm posting this reply with it!

It doesn't get any better than this!

Nope, I don't work there. I just happened to catch sight of it and the sale price tag underneath it.

:ohwell: Damn Democrat Congress never should have passed this stupid crap. You'd think Shrill and Barck would care a little bit about future generations, but it's all about getting elected for them. What a bunch of hypocrits.
...and I guess the legislation just signed itself into law.

We lucked out somehow. Got our final bill for SMO and it showed a $1081 credit. Not sure if I'll cash it out or apply some or all of it toward next season so I'll have a lower monthly payment.

It was Bush's idea, and most Republicans were against it. Democrats not only were for it, the main reason it stalled in Congress was, they wanted to spend another 40 some billion in it. Obama and Hillary voted for it. One Republican didn't show up to vote.

I'll give you just ONE guess....

Even if Bush was against the legislation (which he should have been but wasn't), what good does it do to veto a veto-proof bill?

My point is that both sides screwed the pooch with this one, and Forest trying to pin it on one side is wrong.
