Where can I buy high quality furniture?

Thompson's Furniture is located in Hollywood, MD. Eddie and Billy Thompson, Brothers and the owners, carry a wide variety of brands from economy to upscale. I have been buying furniture there, as has my family, for 40 years. They give a good deal for good furniture. In fact, I just bought a new cherry dining room set from them, seats 10 and will be ordering new living room furniture next week.

Check them out. They are located on Old Route 235 in Holywood / Sandy Bottom.

Every time I go in there I buy something. Not always what I went in for but there's always something that I just can't live without. Never had a problem with Raley's either. Definitely stay away from the Room Store (just the annoying person on their commercials is enough to keep me away!) and Value City (both in Waldorf) unless you're a big fan of pressed particle board.

My Mother has bought several pieces from Thompsons.. The quality is good, and some things can be customized. She had her dining room table made to match her cabinets and counters. She has had her stuff for over 5 years. She also bought some stuff from The Roomstore, and all The Roomstore stuff is falling apart, while the Thompsons furniture is in perfect condition.

I am so very blessed
I'm not sure why, but I hate going into Thompson's Furniture. The place is rickety-old, smells funky, the building set-up is disorganized and confusing, and it is completely overcrowded with stuff. While the furniture might be great and at a decent price, I just can't seem to get past the unorganized mess to find something that I like.

Obviously, the place is still in business, so someone must be buying items from them.

Last time we went there, we spent like 3 hours in there.. LOL. It is crowded, but they have a huge stock.

I agree that The Room Store is crap but I bought my LR and DR furniture from Value City Furniture and I will guarantee there is not a piece of pressed particle board in any of it. It is solid wood, heavy as hell and looks pretty darn good if I do say so myself. :yay:

If you don't mind traveling, go to Delmar on the Eastern Shore and check out Johnny Janosik's and Furnitureland. They are in Delaware so no sales tax on your purchases.
