Looking to decorate several walls in my house. Where can I find a nice selection of oil paintings at "reasonable" prices?

Don't them starving artist show/sales come around the local hotels soon? I'm not finding much on the web.

Call the library!
They usually have some very good artistic pieces on display.
They rotate around, are pretty reasonable and are local artists.
Some of them are really good, some are very innovative:popcorn:

Artists display their work in the center corridor of the CD Cafe building in Solomons. Don't know if they are oil paintings or not.
The Captains Table restaurant in Solomons used display artists work too, but I have not been there lately.

depedns on what you are looking for.."pretty" stuff can be found at a lot of local places, I have found some really neat pieces at pier one..and marshalls of all places..

Personally, I am not really a big fan of most of the local nautical/lighthouses stuff that seems to be big around here, but there is a small gallery in wildewood that has some, and the antiques shop in ltown has some neat stuff too. and theres always artsfest at annmarie gardens at the end of the summer every year..really awesome stuff there sometimes too. I have some awesome/unique art from there.

Is it all make believe?
Was just in Home Goods/TJ Maxx (Waldorf) last night and they had a huge selection of artwork of all types.

I've picked up some nice (original) oil paintings and watercolors on EBay. Look for the ones who will stretch the canvas onto a frame rather than buy it rolled. I've found that it's much cheaper for them to do it and mail it than take it to Michaels or somewhere else to get it stretched.

or....

go to some of the local flea markets, might find a Ranoir or DuBossy. Or, take a day and wander around old-town section of Fredericksburg. Couple of starving artists type galleries there.
