Where to find jobs out here?

I moved into this area about 6 months ago, and still I cannot find a job. Anyone know what job websites I can go to besides Indeed, SoMaryonline and Simply Hired? Looking for a Buyer/Purchasing position. :coffee:

Find someone with roots in the county, someone who can trace their lineage to the Ark & Dove (did I spell that right).
Marry them.
Now you have connections which works much better then cold calls.

Sad but true, I've seen it many times and you don't have to be qualified to do anything!

don't worry, it's not just here. A personal contact is always better then a cold call - and responding to ads is considered a "cold call".
The more unique your skill set, the less you need the insider advantage. But when hundreds are applying for a job, a good word from a current employee or friend doesn't hurt.

You've been unemployed for six months and have only found THREE job websites? These should help, but you have to get out there and look for yourself.

USAJOBS - The Federal Government's Official Jobs Site

Thanks for the websites! Of course I've looked at other websites like Monster, Careerbuilder, USAJobs etc etc but most of them show jobs in Western and Northern Maryland like Baltimore and/or DC metro area. I'm looking for purchasing out here in St. Mary's County. I thought there could be a website that would just show employment ads in this area:tap:.

:yeahthat: Also be willing to apply for any position qualified for with a company to just get your foot in the door.
Right now it sounds like all you can do is purchase electronics. I go to best buy but I don't count that as experience.

Been wondering what exactly does a purchaser/buyer do for a company or business? I mean I know what the definitions are but to be honest I never heard of it as a job title.

Yep. Unfortunately, it is a lot different now than even 5 years ago. They were calling ME back then!

Buyer/Purchaser is overhead which are the first positions to go when employers start cost-cutting. Aside from PAX or its contractors, I'm not sure who is hiring those types of positions in this area. The point is, job-seekers can't afford to be as choosy as they once were and you might have to drive a little further or lower your salary expectations.

I had that title for 14 years at a hospital in DC. It's a real job title.
