Where to get a good hotdog?

Yeah, but when It's all said and done.... if you're at a party and there are hot dogs grilled outside over charcoal on a toasted bun, are you really gonna be that picky and turn it down? Not me....

Yep, if it's one of those pink ones I will.

There is a guy around here that visits places with his hot dog cart. I think he hits The river festival.. Very yummy dogs (and I used to get them in NYC)

There was a guy in the Expedition Park this week selling Hot Dogs and Half Smokes from his cart. I was going to stop and get one but had to run to a meeting. By the time the meeting was over he was gone :frown:

I know this thread can go in many different ways but i'll risk it....lol! I used to have a place back home where these two old guys made the best hotdogs. Homemade chili etc... Are there any hotdog joints around here? Oh what is your favorite hotdog? Mine is with chili, ketchup, mustard, onions, relish, sweet peppers, jalapeno, slaw and fries. All on a potato bun. YUMO!

Is that in NY?

Nathan's

They are a legacy and now everybody is dissing them.

If you grill them the fat all drops off. Boil them and you have a pot full of grease on the top. Scoop them out.

Sauerkraut, mustard, onions and chili sauce, please. Also, the bun DOES matter.

Made some boars head hotdogs on the grill and they were awesome. My Hubby made a onion pepper relish for me that was to die for.

STEELERS NATION!!
On the travel channel they have a show that was called Hotdog Paradise. It was a great show. They do others like steak and hamburger paradise.

Those are some good shows. I would love to drive around the country and stop at all those little places to eat.

I'd have to say Nathan's on Coney Island. I remember going there as a kid with my parents. I haven't been there in a long time so I don't know haw they are now. Also Hard Times in Waldorf has a really good chilidog.

Alton Brown Feasting on Asphalt..

He'd stop at dives from coast to coast, and give you the names AND the Lat Longs so you could go see for yourself..

My BIL has been wanting to open a hotdog restaurant for ages. When we go on vacation to NC there's a little stand back on the mainland that has great dogs.

First place I ever had a knish when I was about 7. Have yet to find one as good anywhere else.

Hovermauls (sp) in Fort washington has a good hotdog but i think it is only because of the awesome chocolate malt that I get to go with it!!
