It's all personal opinion really. Kind of like Chevy vs Ford. I own a Canon but work with Nikons daily. I happen to like my Canon better.

That is the big truth. To the OP, you need to find the ones that first of all fits your needs and then fits your hand. There is not that much difference in the image quality of most cameras within a price bracket anymore. Handle a few and find the one you are most comfortable with and has the best user interface that suits you.

The camera only provides so much support to the "talent." Nobody every told Ernest Hemmingway that his books were great because he chose the best pen.
