Is there a difference between whisky and whiskey?

In short, yes. The product’s spelling is typically linked to its country of origin. American or Irish producers typically spell “whiskey” with the extra letter. Canadian, Scottish and Japanese distillers prefer “whisky.”

I always thought the difference between whisky and whiskey was $$$.
Nah, thats the difference between scotch and a really good, old single malt (Macallan, at least 16). A relative new discovery for me is Tullibardine 228 and 500, reasonably priced and very nice nose/taste.
