I think you ought to wear it to the next forum gathering. :yay:
Make sure someone has a camera. Just in case I can't make it.

I'm gonna show up sometime and be a peeping pam.

Funny as it sounds but when monster (just turned 1 and is 70+ lbs) needs a bath inside I have to wear my bathing suit and then barricade the 2 of us in the bathroom. Talk about a mess when it’s all over, I don't know which one of us ends wearing the most water.

If it makes it above 60 this weekend I think I’m going to try to hose her off outside (hooking the hose to the faucet inside for warm water) but if not I guess it will be Battle Royal.

That's exactly what I am afraid of. What do you do to keep him calm when drying him. I think he'll be fine during his bath, but the towel drying might be a huge challenge.
When Jake was just in the tub, Woody came in and was trying to get Jake to jump out and play. ( I was soaked because of their shenanigans) It really seemed as if he was teasing Jake. So I am not so sure I should even attempt this. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
My mutt only weighs 38lbs, HATES bathes. But he LOVES being dried off, even if it's just coming in from the rain.

I know a really nice girl who is a groomer( she's a dog whisperer) and she's got a mobile grooming van- its so cool.
If you are interested, I can PM her #

My schnauzer tries to put up a fight but I just man-handle her and get it done.
Oh, so many ways to go with this one:

(1) You're not talking about a dog are you?
(2) 'bout damn time you washed that nasty thang.
(3) You like it ruff-ruff.
(4) You always looking for a fight, huh?
(5) There's not many people that call it a "schnauzer".

Hey Nanny, I'm only about an hour and a half from you. I'll come bathe him if you give me gas money and maybe bake me something yummy. :jet:

Who has a big dog 70-75 lbs. and gives him/her a bath inside?
:howdy: Daddy gives big doggie a bath in the girls tub. In the summer he gets bathed outside for obvious reasons. I take little doggie in the shower w/me no matter what time of year. When he's so fresh and so clean, daddy comes to get him and I continue with my shower. He also gets bathed outside in the summer, too.

80lb lab gets shower with Dad, then Dad cleans himself and the shower. We have a shower hose so it is easier. It's a lot of fun, and it gets the shower clean. Sometimes goes to Pasofever if we are lazy.

My Dog is an easy 100lbs. HE gets showers during the winter in a stand up shower and a removable shower head. During the summer I cant keep him out of the pool so he just smells like Chlorine....Which is better than ditry Dog...LOL

I have one of them hose things that hooks up to the shower head. Makes giving the mutts a bath sooo much easier! And there is no keeping two wet dogs calm while drying them - let'em rip and clean the mess up later :lmao:

What did you do to calm him down?

He is so happy to be out of the tub that he is just fine getting a full body rub with a towel. You cannot expect to stay dry during the whole evolution. Just put some towels on the floor. Close the door if you can and go for it. A scooby snack or two helps.

I saw two references in this thread to bathing with the dog. Though it makes sense it just conjures up to many weird thoughts. I think I will go poke my eyes out and read a bible while kneeling on a bed of uncooked rice!!!!! :lmao:

Does my butt look big?
Here you go NP here is my secret..

Have your bath tub lifted to waist level (saves your back)

Invest in a prima bathing system so you do not have to hand scrub through that heavy coat and hurt your arthritic hands rubbing him..

get a good 4 HP blow dryer to blow all the water off of him..

Put him in a large vari kennel and put a squirrel type furnace blower fan in front of him...

Go fix lunch he will be dry when you get back to him.. :huggy:

Can I borrow your credit card? j/k
I am going to try it tomorrow.
It is going to be in the 70's this weekend. Maybe hubby will turn on the water to the O.S. then we got it made!! :yahoo:

Not sure where you are located but - for $10 I use the self service facility at the Petco in Waldorf. The $10 gets you - use of their tubs (has ramp for larger dogs), hot and cold water, shampoo and conditioner, use of the commercial blow dryer and even a raincoat so you don't get soaked.

For the $10 it's worth not having to clean up the mess or unplugging the drains in the house.
