Between L.P. and H'wood? Anybody?

Funny you should ask that today... the boss and I just tried delivery from Pepperoni's (by Kohls, BWW)... pretty good darn sammiches, and they deliver, and he was early to boot... we'll definately patronize them again...

I remember when I moved here and started working at Bambino's. They made their steak and cheese with SteakUm style beef, and topped it with lettuce, tomatoes and mayo upon request.

I had never heard of anything like that. The sub place I worked at as a kid always did them with with steak sliced thin off a big slab of cow, grilled with onions and maybe mushrooms, topped with cheese, then the bun over the top of that to heat the bread and melt the cheese. Slide the big spat under the whole mess, flip it over onto the plate and add a couple more slices of cheese.

Vegetation had no place on this cheese steak. And in the 2+ years I worked there, I don't recall anyone ever asking for it.

I loved Bambino's steak and cheese! The toasted bun helped make it along with the lettuce and grilled onions. I hate the cheese wiz crap on my steak and cheese. Oh and I can't forget the big spear of the kosher dill on the side was so good! Now I am craving one, I have never found another one that measured up to theirs. :eek:hbigsigh:

Off Topic.. Moved from Md. to Mass. in the lates 70's for a job and up there they called subs, grinders. The steak and cheese subs up there were awesome. Upon moving back to Md. from Mass, to this day i say the worst sub shop up there can make a better steak and cheese sub/grinder than anywher i have been in Md. Up there in those days there wer no fast food type sub shops most were family owned. No subaways, no jerrys subs, no chinese food carry out that also served subs. I am sure nowadays they do have all the chains up there. When i used to live up there a chocalte milk shake was shaken chocolate milk, if you wanted what we call down here a milk shake it was called a frappe.

I like the cheesesteak from Jerry's over on Solomons.

If I wasn't still on a restricted diet, that sounds like a great idea... :ohwell:

Well, it sounded like a good idea... I was disappointed. They've changed the ingredients... the 'mayo' tastes like kraft salad dressing, makes it too sweet and blech. Meat was different too. No longer on my list.
