An Obama supporter pointed out to me that at the election party for Obama, there were just as many white people as black people in attendance.

I had to question how many black people voted for him based solely on his race. I also had to remind him of the "Harlem interviews." How many black people even bothered to learn about the candidates before they made up their minds?

With this said, which race do you think tends to be more racists? Blacks or Whites.

For some reason, your question bothers me.........You should have asked "Which race do you think is more racist?" You don't need the s on the end of the word racist. Other than that, you bring up a good point. I truely believe there are some white racists and there always will be but I generally see a lot more black people who seem to have a problem with other races and want to play the race card and ##### when they aren't getting their way. I've never really thought about it but I'll have to say...at least in this area.....black people tend to be more racist.

HORUS

Better than YOU.
Coming from a black man I'd say Blacks are more racist nowadays. Anyone who disagrees needs to wake up and smell the crap they're shoveling.

Not sure anyone can determine percentage wise but there are ignorant people of all races. I say it's equal.

I refuse to participate in this poll. It’s too subjective. Do you really believe black people answering will say black people are more racist? Do you really believe white people answering will say white people are more racists? And if you consider the demographics of this SOMD viewing area (I know, not everyone on here is from SOMD) the results are predictable.

We already have a poll that reveals a certain racial bias (if you will), and that is the presidential election. Exit polling reveals that 43% of white vote went for BO while 95% of the black vote went for BO. And consider that black voters turned out in record numbers. And when you break it down by age the numbers don’t change all that much.

The black community is far more bonded as a race than the white community and I certainly don’t consider that a bad thing; but it does raise eyebrows in the white community that the black community is apparently unwilling to make their decisions that fall outside of the race-based mindset. The white community has become split. This according to election results. Is this an indication that blacks are more racist than whites? Not at all. I find that the black community is bonded more as a race and tend to stick to their own more than the white community. Folks will come to their own conclusion on this. I refuse to believe it’s racist so much as it is racial preference. There is a difference.

I like this poll. To me, it's indicative of how white people feel. I think it's important to know that racism has an impact on whites, as much as it does on minorities. Personally, I'm tired of being thrown under the bus because I'm not a minority.

I wasn't trying to imply racism doesn't exist. Of course it does. What I am saying is I don't really think one is more racist than the other. As a white guy, I have been a target of racism. The results of this poll - because the target audience is predominately white - can be interpreted as racist simply because it’s a bunch of white people casting their vote. I’m not saying it is racist, I’m only saying it can be interpreted that way because of the target audience and the results.

I think it’s fair to say that the white community has come a long way in reaching across to heal the pain they have caused on blacks. I’m not willing to say the same for the black community. This election is indicative of that. Again, I don’t interpret that as racist so much as I think blacks are still angry about their past. Do I like this anger? Absolutely not. I think it’s time to recognize how far whites have come with this and start letting go of their anger. But that’s easy for a white guy, who doesn’t have such a past, to say.

Hard to say because I don't hang around bigots of any race, so I can't form an opinion on first-hand knowledge. Blacks might have a lead, based on what I hear in the news. But if you listen to what the MSM tells you, as opposed to the actual facts of a news story, whites are more bigoted.

So who knows? Let's call them equal.

However, bigotry is a fairly normal human response to "differences". It goes back to our caveman days, when anyone outside your "norm" could be a threat to your life.
