Why are people flocking to get tested for covid?

I don't understand this. If they're not sick, why would they get tested? And if they are sick, they'd know and wouldn't need a test.

Is this just another ploy to juice the numbers? Get all these people in there, hopefully a ton of them testing positive so the overlords can go, "Covid cases are on the rise"?

They call me ... Sarcasmo
My oldest had to have a negative test 72 hours prior to returning to classes. ShOcKeR, the school supplied test kit showed up late (supply chain?) he turned it around within 24 hours and now the lab is backlogged by 5 days. He ended up with an onsite test at school then got his test results the following day.

It's just to juice up the numbers and requiring a negative test to do anything is dumb, just like these efftard masks that kids and some adults are required to wear.

as far as the testing, the Gov is NOT Tracking Case Numbers anymore .... the shift is to track Hospitalized

and another shift is From vs With Covid - admitting 40 % or more of the ' positive ' test results are coming from people hospitalized for something else, they just also have covid

Youngest has to test once a week for the privilege of going to work. And a home test is acceptable.

I thought about ordering my 4 "free" test kits for him, but I really hate to get on a list.

Or will I automatically be on a 'this one didn't order their wonderful free kit' list?

I'm so torn.

My thinking with the at home kits is people are taking them at home, and if they test positive are going to a test site to have it done again to make sure. Kind of a 2nd opinion.

Ok, I see. They need it to work or go to school in some areas - that makes sense. Here we are living normally, no mask requirements or covid test results, so I'm a bit out of touch with what's going on in the rest of the country.

So anyway, who wants an OTC at-home covid test? We have hundreds of them at the Walgreens. I should go buy them up and sell them for big bucks on eBay.

What is the plan with these free govt test kits. Are they shipping them out .? If so good luck waiting until March. Or here's a voucher, go to a local place we set up to give them out. Not knowing how many times you need to keep going back as they keep running out.

Interesting enough to add to your mix... the base doesn't accept 'at home' negative tests. I asked our flight doc what good are the Biden test? He said well if you get a positive you can assume you are positive but negative will require further testing.

We use Weis pharmacy in Callaway. The "sorry we're out of COVID tests" sign might as well be permanent.....it's always on their counter.

Last week I filled in at the place I vend at. All but one person working there was sick with "covid". The business affiliated with this had a high sickness rate as well. It ran through both places like wildfire! I believe everyone affected was over 60 and some had pre existing health conditions.
The first day I worked, they offered me a covid test and I declined. I felt fine.
They requested I wear a mask and we suggested to customers that they mask up and many did not. No big deal to me; I would have been mask free if they had not asked me to.
The lady I worked with sprayed everything down with lysol and I dubbed our new perfume as "eu de Les Sol"!

Yes, you should. I would.

Might not want to do that. Well maybe not on a large scale. Remember the story of I believe of a guy from Tennessee, who bought up a garage full of wipes & masks, etc with the intention of selling them on Amazon and other places. Then someone turned him in and they wouldn't allow him to sell.

Don't know if it's true, but take it for what it's worth:

I'm sure I had Covid, but just hours before getting the test, I used a nasal spray with HCl, not intentionally, just because I had a plugged nose. My test was negative.

My brother and a group just came back from Jamaica. In order to get back to the USA, you had to have a valid negative covid test within 48 hours. The helpful attendants at the resort also said using a nasal spray will get you a negative result.
