Why are Rentals so HIGH????

He pays his bills, and one of those is 'rent' to me - for his portion of utilities. I am nice but not stupid! LOL. But there is no way he could afford a decent place to live, and keep up with utilities, and insurance and EAT.
It's tough, there's no doubt about that. I've seen the prices of nearly everything go up; its all related in the long run.

I hope to move out soon myself and although it seems daunting I know it can and will be done.

We all had to struggle at some point but when there is not enough money there to even attempt to try then there is a problem....unless my kids live with a bunch of thier friends and as we all know that doesn't work for long.
If they're planning on living alone in this area as a first time renter then they can forget it unless they're making bank.

My point exactly, even a young married/live together couple couldn't do it without help..............
Sure they could. I said that one couldn't do it alone unless they were making bank. If there were two involved then its a whole other ball game.

Don't knock an honest living. I am glad my kid has a decent job, but if he did work in retail or food service and he liked it, that would be ok with me. As long as he worked and was a decent person.

I make a hell of a lot more than most kids my age.

There's no way I could live on my own. I can't even get my car through emissions, which the socialists don't understand is that the young people they claim to "help" can't get through their laws.

I could live out of my car if it ever came to it. It's big enough, and I have considered it, having slept a good few cold nights in it already. :yay:

Of course my horse. You can't make it if the two of you are Taco Bell assistant managers waiting for that big break.

LOL...well when I was looking for a job (worked in Bethesda and was tired of the commute) I was shocked at the difference in pay.......I really had to cut back on you know some of life's goodies......like food and electric....:eyebrow:

I'm not knockin' it because I'm livin' it.

I just know that it would be tougher to rent or own with my current job than If I had a much better paying one, which I hope to have soon.

I'm not making chit for money and all my friends make less than me. Right now, I love both of my jobs and things have seldom been better for me. Happiness is the key to life. A "career" can wait.

As long as you have a roof over your head and warm food in your belly life is good!

Good attitude! I worked retail and food service for years and liked the people interaction it provides. Being happy is the key.
