How much are you looking to pay?:coffee:

I van pooled to Arlington Virginia for 14 years......BRAC hit and I got sent to Bethesda..........I drove everyday for 6 years....150 miles a day on the capital beltway, literally tore up 5 vehicles, I took a 20K pay cut to get a job that is still an hour away.....and the only bills I have are rent, utilities and a car payment and I can't do it.......

Looking to pay? I am moving, already looked at a house with 5 acres of land that is going to cost me 585 a month to BUY!!!!

Just waiting for a job to come through so I can move.

My kids will have to either come with me or live with a relative......they can't afford this area.

Sacrifice. Most young people don't know the word.

WTF are talking about - a couple making $ 10 $ 12 bucks an hr ..... maybe a combined salary of $ 50k per yr .......

Remington Place in Fort Washington:

$822 for an efficacy - 1300 for a 2 bedroom

and its between oxon hill and camp springs ........

Westood Place - Fort Washington $ 905 - 1325

places in Arlington start @ 1500 and go to 3800

hell I had lunch @ popeyes Glebe rd to day and a 5 piece chicken strip meal w/ fries and med drink was $ 8.50 WTF :jameo:

Hunnington Gateway off of RT 1 in Va - $1195-2025

so renting is no so cheap

Before my boyfriend and I moved down here to NC, we were able to get out of my parents house and afford our own apartment. Combined we made about $19.00 an hour. We had all the common bills most have along with both our student loan payments. Don't know how we made it through our 6 month lease but we managed. I'm proud :yahoo: lol

Now, I have to admit I have it pretty darn good. My mom said the only way she would move to NC is if her kids (my sis and I) came, and we both did not want to leave CC (I had just moved back from being on a 2 year hiatus). To make a long story short my dad bought us each a house (payed for in full), all we pay is the cost to run the house and taxes. Only catch is when and if we decided to sell we owe him what he payed for the house and we keep the rest. Thats cool with me.

Im not even intersted in renting, why waste money on something someone else owns. I make enough to rent, but instead of spending the 1k a month to rent a place ive been saving that money so when i find a house thats affordable i can make a decent down payment. I wont mind paying $1200 a month for something i will own. And before patch or one of his MPD's say something, i have found houses for around 150k, and by the end of the year they should be less.

It is expensive to live here, i have friends at work who do rent and i know a couple of them can barey afford it.

It depends on the area to. I have a rental on the water and the land taxes are so high. So, I have to ask a lot for the rent to be able to cover all the bills for it. Last year I took a big loss, cause the tenants I had was there for years and never told me anything was wrong. Even though I asked every month when they paid the rent.

Dad lives in Orange VA. About 25 min. from Fredericksburg. Bought 48 acres for 40K. They cleared it and gave him 19K for the lumber. He had a nice three two story with basement and garage built for 150K. Has horses. Now worth $$$$. He drives up to Alex. and loves it there. I have some friends who moved to King George, Dahgren area and pay half what it is here.
If you move to an area that is rural and buy, then it builds up, your gonna have some equity. Not to mention prob. much better schools than around here.
Some of those places mentioned before I wouldn't even think about living there. Fort Washington?? gotta be kiddin

Believe me, Farmville, VA is NOT Waldorf!!. More like Mayberry.

My son just graduated from Longwood, right in the heart of Farmville. There are only a couple restaurants and shopping is Wally World.

I'm not knocking the place, it is actually a very nice, quaint town. If your someone likes that style of living so be it.

I started renting when I was 19, and I have been renting for two years now. It can start to get pretty expensive when you have to pay for rent, utilities, your car and car insurance. I live with my boyfriend and it's not like we make a lot of money. You just have to learn to make sacrifices.
