I graduated from college the year before last. When I left college, I had about 400 dollars to my name. I got job and got a 1 bedroom apt at the Apartments of Wildewood. $300 deposit.

I have $100 to my name. Grocerys for the first month were about $40. I ate a lot of Tuna Fish.

By the time I got my first paycheck I had a total of $3 in my bank and a bucket of loose change. I did not buy anything that was not needed. I slept on the floor of my apartment in a sleeping bag. The next month, after utilities, payments, and rent were paid I had about $300 for food, gas, etc. I ate more tuna fish and rode my bike to and from work. I bought a bed MATTRESS.

By the end of that I had about $50 left over. I spent about 2 months of hell so I could get out on my own two feet. Too scared that buying a bottle of mustard would put me in the negative, so I just took packets from WaWa.

2 years later, I have over $20k saved up, $8k in my 401k, I bought a ####ty (but NEW) car because my old one broke down, and I am quite pleased.

Teach your kids that they don't NEED much to survive and get by. If they want to live extravagently and blow money on crap that they certainly don't need, then they can expect to be living at home with mommy and daddy for quite a long time.

You ate alot of Ramen, didn't you?

WTF are talking about - a couple making $ 10 $ 12 bucks an hr ..... maybe a combined salary of $ 50k per yr .......

Remington Place in Fort Washington:

$822 for an efficacy - 1300 for a 2 bedroom

and its between oxon hill and camp springs ........

Westood Place - Fort Washington $ 905 - 1325

places in Arlington start @ 1500 and go to 3800

hell I had lunch @ popeyes Glebe rd to day and a 5 piece chicken strip meal w/ fries and med drink was $ 8.50 WTF :jameo:

Hunnington Gateway off of RT 1 in Va - $1195-2025

so renting is no so cheap

Every last apartment community you named is in the hood too. Remington has a whole lot of robberies in that high rise. In fact, most high rises in DC and PG have a lot of robberies.

The best bet is to go the way of the roomate referral service and risk hating the people you live with not the money you pay out. It's not easy at all and I am a single mother of two boys who makes that commute. I know the pain. :flowers:

Now, that is sad. You had to resort to a life of crime. I'm not even trying to be funny but I am trying to make a point. That if things were not good for you (hard worker who sacrificed to reach your goal) to the point of taking condiments from a local food establishment then what is going to happen now that much of the country is struggling with the recession?

People who aren't even trying (low-lifes) are going to not just take things that are harmless but begin stealing way more things and all in the name of surviving. It's scary. Look at the looting that went on in TN in less than what, an hour... People aren't faking when it comes to trying to maintain, be it the right way or the wrong way.

Gwydion, there was nothing wrong with what you did, I take napkins, extra splenda and stirrers to have at work or in my car if need be from any food place. They don't put a quantity maximum on those things so who are they to tell you how much of it you need.

Not the DMV (DC/MD/VA) though by the way. No one's starving or struggling like they aer in FL and Nevada.
Btw, the National's Ballpark is hiring. (Google'ble). :flowers:

Pookieboo!!!
:lmao:

I'll take v8 muscle over 4cyl any day :yay:

In all seriousness though..it was a joke . There are quite a few cars that are 4cyl and still make at least 250 whp

I wouldn't mind a nice new WRX (I really do hate those gold rims and massive wings on the Stis though ) for example

Gold BBS wheels are optional. I believe with certain models you can swap the entire trunk on WRX models or maybe even Impreza models. Just make sure the lock is switched too. :lmao:

There are places you can go based on your income and they are actually pretty nice. I have seen the inside of one of them. I know somebody who lives in one. It's not set up strictly for section 8 or anything like that. A lot of apartment complexes contract out a certain number of their apartments this way so they get a tax break.
