Why do we do this and how do we fix it?

Now why would you lock your children away for that long? They should be doing housework when they're awake. :duh:

God, I never thought of that. I just figured if they were quiet and not bothering me and I didnt have to look at them, all was well. Man wait till I get home. The list is long, ovens to clean, fridges, toliets, ect. Should they cook for me too, before I send them back to their dungeon. I have to use duct tape when the neighbors come around. :killingme

Your home looks clean and nice. How do you do it with 4 big cows running around. I just see them knocking over that end table with all the nicnaks behind them. :killingme

Touch their feet :yikes: are you nuts? They would rip my arms off.

And when we take more than one to the ballfields, people are grabbing up their children. "When dogs like those are in a group, they get vicious."
I'm thinking West Side Story. :lmao:

I'd just like to add that there are NOT sufficent animal cruelty laws in Calvert County. There is nothing that says you cannot tie a dog to a tree, leave it out in 100+ heat or -10 freezing weather without proper housing. Heck, unless it's near death or has bitten someone or the neighbors complain of barking, it's not likely they can do anything. This is what Becky is trying to help with. Give Animal Control the backing they need to help these dogs or remove them BEFORE things like this happen.

Animal Control Officers have to take the blame even though they enforce the laws to the best of their ability. It's just not fair. The laws need to be changed so they can do the right thing in the situation they are dealing with.

There are dog owners who have 7 family dogs. Those 7 dogs are treated like family. In some cases they are treated better than some people treat their children.

There are some people who have one dog and just chain it outside and throw scaps out the door to it when they happen to have some leftovers to spare.

I'm really sorry it seems that I plastered this willie-nillie all over the forums. My thought was that this way people would start talking about the need for better laws.

Can we all agree there should be better laws?

When we make those laws we need to bring Animal Control officers in on the dicussion.

The laws on the books in Calvert County were written decades ago and the county has changed.
