Why does my cat shake?

Have you called a vet yet?

I just got an appt for him at Banfield on Wednesday. I HATE this! I have a feeling this is going to be one of those things that they're not going to be able to isolate. Some of you may remember that he was a stray, and practically starving to death when I took him in. He probably has really bad memories of being out in the cold, but I'm no pet shrink, so that could be it or not. It normally occurs right after he wakes up, or when I first return home from work (which means he probably just woke up then too). It doesn't last, but it is worrisome. I've noticed it happening maybe four times over the past couple of weeks. He's so cute and sweet (when he's not attacking me). I hope there's nothing wrong with him.

I seriously doubt anyone could have kicked him. He only comes out of hiding for me. Now I've accidently run into him several times, but nothing hard. He just gets under my feet sometimes...

Kitty Parkinson's perhaps...

Bad catnip...

He's trying to poop...

He heard what the word "nuetered" means...

I'm sure it could be a lot of things. Did you ask them to call you if they have a cancellation and you can get kitty in sooner?

Has he been neutred? sp? Sometimes when a tom (male) reaches a certain age he will make that sort of motion when getting ready to spray. Also some toms that were not fixed early will do this. Good Luck to you and kitty.

They had an appt tomorrow, but I can't make it due to work. I'm sure he'll be ok until Wednesday. fingers crossed. Thanks to all for advice...

Dear moran; fyi, I did not give out any karma today, so good for you, too.

Forgot about that. Our cat was neutered and still does a little shake sometimes.

my cat does that...shaking when she wakes up...but its more like a stretching shaking not violent shaking, you know when you wake up and stand up to stretch you do the same thing after a nice long nap.

DT's....
After many years of catnip abuse, kitty repents !

haha...we were catsitting one time, and had a catnip plant...when the cat found it he went crazy, like it was PCP...he was ready to take down anyone that tried to take that catnip from him.

What's the status of the kitty?????

Sorry for the delay in replying. I took one person's advice and decided to wait while before taking him to the vet. I have not seem him shake since then. Perhaps it was just bad dreams. He's doing well, but getting a bit too fiesty lately. Maybe he's just bored because I'm not around a lot. Which leads to my next thread...

I've noticed that my cat shakes sometimes, like he's shivering. But it's not cold, and I'm pretty sure he's not upset. Anyone know if I should be worried? He seems perfectly normal (or as normal as any kitten) otherwise.

I think it is all a put-on so you will baby him
