But just to comment on what you said, I am not, not counting my blessings, I know I have MUCH more than anyone in a harder position has. And I am very blessed to this day. I am just saying in an emotional faith fashion- I am not speaking of my "life" situations- but more of what is going on inside, if that makes sense? More so- that I am trying to "figure" things out in my head persay- with the whole, where I am suppose to be in my faith?m I guess...

Call me if you need to, I left my cell number in your krama... if I can't help with any of this spiratually, I think I'm always good for a few laughs :huggy:

Do you have Joel Osteen's book, "Your Best Life Now"? It's more spiritual than religious (much like his sermons) but it's very inspirational and talks about losing faith not only in God, but in yourself and how to get that faith back to fulfill your divine destiny.

I highly recommend it :yay:

Watercolor,

I wish you could have gone a few weeks back with all of us. We are already planning next year and I insist you go. We are planning to stay at a hotel close by and take advantage of the free time.

I meant to ask you how you liked that. My mom and her sister go every year, and this past year, they were able to get all 7 sisters together to go. They always have a good time. :yay:

We had a BLAST. I laughed so much I nearly peed my pants 10 times over, but there were times I was so overtaken with emotions that I cried along with everyone else I could see around me.

They had a women stand up after they showed the newspaper from the day before of a man, serving in Iraq, waiving a plane in on a runway. It was his wife. She had no clue she would be recognized that way.

The whole thing was extremely powerful, and I got to meet some awesome people.

WC,
Pandora posted a good verse. We always have a way out.

God will not test you beyond your ability, but you may not choose to live up to your ability. We must strive for perfection. That does not mean the road will be easy. Read what happened to Job. Now there were some hard tests; lost family, friends, and fortune. But Job was restored beyond what he had because he strove to be God's person no matter what. The road is narrow and so is the gate that leads to God's kingdom and more will choose the easy path to destruction and the path to paradise.

When you are down, pray, read your Bible, pray some more. Get off by yourself, even if you have to go into the bathroom and lock the door, and pray. Really pray. Tell God what is bothering you and expect His answer. The answer you get may not be the answer your want but it will be the answer you need.

Oh no, sister did not just ask WTF in the religion forum. :nono: :smack:

Now, let me explain.

Your response to me initially in this thread didn’t warrant :banghead: and WHATEVER :banghead: So, I was just wondering if you’d taken your purple pill today. You seemed a little testy there, like maybe you need a referral or something, but your second response was much better. Thank you. :peace:

WTF must be "What the Forumite" in the religion forum. Makes at least as much sense as the other more common (double innuendo meant) meaning.

Dancing Up A Storm
Quoted from 2nd A: "God will not test you beyond your ability, but you may not choose to live up to your ability.

We must strive for perfection. That does not mean the road will be easy."

I hope I'm not wrong, but this is why I said in another thread, that we are "Works in Progress". We are all sinners, and we have a long road ahead of us.

One of the ladies in that thread said that she had been told "She must be perfect", growing up early in her religious training. I don't believe I was ever told that by my church leaders. It's sort of impossible, I think.

There was only one person, one man, on this earth who was ever capable of that.

He died on a cross for all of us, more than 2,000 years ago.

Many of us find our faith slip away from us, sometimes overnight, and maybe - because - sometimes we feel that we're not getting the answers, the responses we thought we were going to "magically" receive, because we joined God's team.

A pastor at my church once told me, that when we pray for something to happen, there are three possibilities that can occur:

God answers your prayers, and say: "Yes".

God says: "No, not right now".

Or, He says: "Maybe, but let Me think on it."

You have to hold fast, and believe on the 2nd two responses. :huggy:

Paul prayed about his imperfect eyesight.
2 Corinthians 12:8-10

8Concerning this I implored the Lord three times that it might leave me.

9And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness " Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.

10Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.
He didn't get the answer he wanted, but he accepted the answer he got.

We strive for perfection knowing that God loves us just where we are right now and He will test us like sand paper on wood slowly taking off the imperfections and smoothing out the rough edges.
Hebrews 10:10-25

10By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

11Every priest stands daily ministering and offering time after time the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins;

12but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, SAT DOWN AT THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD,

13waiting from that time onward UNTIL HIS ENEMIES BE MADE A FOOTSTOOL FOR HIS FEET.

14For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.

15And the Holy Spirit also testifies to us; for after saying,
16"THIS IS THE COVENANT THAT I WILL MAKE WITH THEM
AFTER THOSE DAYS, SAYS THE LORD:
I WILL PUT MY LAWS UPON THEIR HEART,
AND ON THEIR MIND I WILL WRITE THEM,"
He then says,
17"AND THEIR SINS AND THEIR LAWLESS DEEDS
I WILL REMEMBER NO MORE."

18Now where there is forgiveness of these things, there is no longer any offering for sin.
A New and Living Way
19Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus,

20by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh,

21and since we have a great priest over the house of God,

22let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

23Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful;

24and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds,

25not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.
While we are not perfect in our flesh, we are perfected in the santification through God's sacrafice on the cross. We should seek to be perfect as an offering of love of God and we should not actively seek to sin. The following is real meat and not baby's milk.
Hebrews 10:26-39

26For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,

27but a terrifying expectation of judgment and THE FURY OF A FIRE WHICH WILL CONSUME THE ADVERSARIES.

28Anyone who has set aside the Law of Moses dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.

29How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?

30For we know Him who said, "VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY " And again, "THE LORD WILL JUDGE HIS PEOPLE."

31It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

32But remember the former days, when, after being enlightened, you endured a great conflict of sufferings,

33partly by being made a public spectacle through reproaches and tribulations, and partly by becoming sharers with those who were so treated.

34For you showed sympathy to the prisoners and accepted joyfully the seizure of your property, knowing that you have for yourselves a better possession and a lasting one.

35Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.

36For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised.
37FOR YET IN A VERY LITTLE WHILE,
HE WHO IS COMING WILL COME, AND WILL NOT DELAY.
38BUT MY RIGHTEOUS ONE SHALL LIVE BY FAITH;
AND IF HE SHRINKS BACK, MY SOUL HAS NO PLEASURE IN HIM.

39But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul.

IN CELEBRATION OF LIVEPRAYER'S 7 YEAR ANNIVERSARY, TODAY I HAVE CHOSEN ONE OF THE LIFE-CHANGING DAILY DEVOTIONALS FROM YEAR ONE (8/99-7/00). TOMORROW, I WILL SHARE WITH YOU A DEVOTIONAL FROM YEAR TWO (8/00-7/01)

from Monday May 29, 2000

Faith is what we believe, not how we feel. One of the requests I get daily is from people who just don't "feel" God. Or, they were once "on fire" for the Lord and just don't "feel" Him like they once did. Don't make the mistake of judging your relationship with the Lord, or your service to God based on how you feel. Our relationship with Christ isn't an emotional experience. We accept Christ by FAITH. It is a relationship built on "faith" and not "feelings."

Feelings will betray you since they can change from day-to-day, even minute to minute. Our faith, however, is not based on how we feel, but what we believe. Just like your feeling may change in regard to your spouse, parents, children, friends..it doesn't stop them from being who they are in your life. You accepted Christ by faith. Our relationship with Him is one of faith. Just because your feelings may change, your relationship with Him does not.

As you mature in Christ, as those who have walked years with the Lord can attest, you rely less on how you might feel and more on your faith. The wonderful thing is that God is the same "yesterday, and today, and forever." God is immutable, a $5 theological term that means "unchanging." So regardless of how you might feel, God is always the same. His promises are the same, He is the same, there are no surprises from God. He doesn't change the rules on you at a whim. His love, His concern for you never diminishes or fades away.

The longer you walk with Christ, the better you get to know Him, the more you realize that you don't have to rely on how you feel. You can count on your faith, what you believe to guide you through this journey because God never changes.

For many people, this is a big hurdle to cross over. The hurdle of feelings versus faith. I will be praying for you today to really understand that you don't have to count on the way you feel to determine your walk with Christ. It is not measured by goose bumps.

That is why I stress so much the daily time with Him. The 30 minutes or so at the start of the day in the Word and prayer. Just like you can never develop much of a relationship with your friends without actually spending time with them, so it is with your relationship with Christ. How can you have a relationship with Him, when you never spend time alone with Him?

I love you and care about you so much. Today is the day we go to church, our focus tends to be on God and the things of God. I pray that you overcome the hurdle of feelings versus faith, and really commit to having a serious relationship with Christ. That doesn't happen overnight, just like an earthly relationship doesn't happen overnight. It is a day-to-day commitment. Make that commitment today. Luckily for us, He never changes, so He is waiting for you.

Thank you for your love and for your prayers and for your sacrifice to help me reach the lost and hurting masses for Christ!

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller
