Why is Joe running?

I think everyone can agree that Joe had a pretty dismal debate so why is he not getting out? Dianne Feinstein was practically forced out, Justice Sotomayor is being pushed towards the door, RBG was posthumously criticized for not retiring. What keeps these people hanging around forever? Can they not see a world without them in it, do they think the world stops spinning. Not saying the R’s are any better, turtlehead is 20 years past his useful life. Any opinions.

Pride. In the case of the justices probably because they leaned liberal within a group of those that leaned conservative. Just spitballin' here.

I think some of it's what you indicated - arrogance - but also that they don't have anything else going on in their life. They've spent their whole life chasing power, they have no relationship with their kids or grandkids, they live a separate life from their spouse, they don't have hobbies or vacation, and they certainly aren't going to relax on the porch in a rocker. The job is all they have and they can't think of what they would do instead.

It's like the 80 year old fossil rockers who can't possibly need the money, but go on tour to places like the Calvert Marine Museum when they used to sell out arenas. What else are they gonna do? Look at Madonna - having a camera in her face and strangers liking her social media posts is what she lives for and all she has.

Get a hobby - like Grace Slick. Formerly of the Great Society, Jefferson Airplane, and Jefferson Starship, she's long been a painter since retiring longer ago than some people have been alive.
