Now aren't our voting booths a private thing? I thought that was the American way...LOL...Just like confession, huh? Do you need to hear my sins? And if I don't like either candidate then I don't vote for one or the other and just do local politics. Thank goodness we have a choice.

wow, what a way to skirt that question :ohwell:

Let me ask it another way... Did you vote for Kerry?

This is why the dems would never allow the literacy test back into action :ohwell:

Well, I don't wholly agree with any party line. And I love all the karma comments..TFF. Political beliefs do not make one a bad person, just different.

Politics is America's biggest business and one candidate is not much better than the other.
I wouldn't go quite that far but you make a good point. In order to get elected, a candidate can't be too far left or right - the constituency for either/or is too slim.

While Democrats think Bush is this huge right-wing zealot, people like me think he's just a smidge away from being a "We Are the World" hippie. Fortunately for him, Kerry was a bigger hippie and, had it not been for the War on Tara, I don't think Bush would have won.

Must show just how far right you are  Many republican leaders embrace the fact that he is far right on many of the core issues. And why shouldn't they, it got him elected twice.
of course, he did ruffle some feathers with his announcement he wouldn't go after the gay marriage ban amendment, so that's a plus.

Sorry Vince...lol. It went off to other topics. It was political AND snow. And for the record, I would have loved to see John McCain make it to the top.

I agree, the lines have become blurred and one cannot lean too far either way. I just wanted to get a good talk going..lol I guess I went about it the wrong way for here.

Depends on what you consider a "core" issue. His global welfare agenda isn't particularly conservative - we're supposed to be saying "Screw those people" and then Bush goes and gives them money. My vote was solely based on terrorism and the Iraq War - Bush isn't perfect on that but he is/was better than Kerry.

I think the gay marriage amendment was just a bone he tossed out there to gain support with the hard-core conservatives. And thank God because you have to wonder about a President that would try to amend the Constitution to take away the rights of tax paying citizens.
