Why Test?

If there's no fix, what's the reason for getting a Covid test?

I'm serious here. I have a friend who just tested positive, and she's adamant I get tested. I asked her why, what can be taken to help whatever, and she couldn't answer me. Just last week, she said she'd never take paxlovid again, didn't think it helped.

So, what does testing do to help a person with covid?

I got covid right before 4th of July 2022, took paxlovid and was fine within 2 days. All in all, 2 days down sick/fever, 1 day rest, 4th day back to my normal what-the-hell lifestyle. No vax either. Every one of my sibs(8) got the jab, banned me from family xmas party in 2021 cuz of no jab, and every one of them got covid that took them down for a week or more, 4 got covid a 2nd time.

3 months ago my wife, daughter and mother traveled to PA for a Family gathering ... the week after they returned my cousin texted my wife when has just tested positive for Covid, and everyone should run out and get tested [ they were already coming down sick - this just confirmed the illness ]

my cousin was a bit incensed my wife was, yeah so what ? :sshrug:

getting a Covid Test was NOT going to change anyone's recoveries or treatment methodology

I eventually had Covid as well

Saying you had covid is like saying you had a cold once. Everyone got it, so what? I see no point in getting tested for covid unless you just like giving money to the Big Med and Big Pharm.

And, theres more!!!!

Didja know Murlin, (Maryland) is rated as the Country's worst in the time awaiting care in Emergency Rooms? Worst. One report states almost a whole day, waiting....waiting....
My doctor, who currently is on the board of Calvert County Hospita; (Calvert Health/Med-Star/General Mills/Baskin-Robbins/Ben&Jerrys) just announced he is retiring from private practice. He told me people are using the E/R as their private doctor, I knew that, but doctors and nurses are bailing Murlin for better benefits. I dont blame them....

Joe? Moonhead Moore? Steny? Ben Cardin??...

That's primarily driven by Baltimore and many of the specialist centers. I think Hopkins is reporting like 1200 minutes.

I just saw something on Facebook that Medstar was reporting St Mary's ER was like 22 minutes from coming in the door to having seen the patient or signed their chart (which is done after being put in a room).

Sneakers

Just sneakin' around....
On the few times I've had to use the local ER, it was pretty quick. Triage within minutes of walking in, got a bed quickly, saw a tech or doc quickly. But then again, it was usually at 2am on a weekday.

I caught 'a bug' when Covid first hit, but it was not diagnosed as Covid. Haven't been sick since.
I did before Covid was Covid; two total crap days with what became classic Covid symptoms then back to normal. I blame coworkers visiting China in the fall of '19.
