Why would a mother push away....

her puppy?

She had a litter last week. Now today the mother is pushing away one of the puppies. The owner is going on a cruise, and leaves this Sunday morning. I offered to take the puppy and bottle feed it till she gets back.

But why would the Mom do this? I've been told they do it because the puppy is gonna die anyway.

Other ideas why she might do this? _________________

The puppy could have some sort of health issue...or not. How many puppies does the mom have? What type of dog? How does the puppy look?

I was told something similar to this but I also know of this happening to someone else and the barn cat took care of the puppy...yes, actually nursed the pup...and the puppy lived.

Some people like pure bred dogs and there's NOTHING wrong with that.

I think it's strange that the owner would go on a cruise knowing that her dog has a litter of puppies, and especially when there is an issue.
