Had repeated trips to the ER for diverticulitis, got to try a few different concoctions. I did very well on morphine, didn't fog me, no issue when it came time to turn it off. Got Dilaudid once, knocked me for a loop. Eyes crossed for 8 hours and really didn't hit the pain.

My problem with morphine is I can’t poop for the rest of the week.

After my last major back surgery, the hospital had me set up with a fentanyl drip in my liquid bag IV. It was an astonishingly better method for controlling pain than what I was used to from previous two back surgeries ('81 and 2010) where I was given a button to push that would add morphine to my IV directly. Less pain....far less mush-mind...the new approach was the bomb.

Found the video of why your back has been giving you problems all these years. You dare devil you.

I know someone who was on that and didn't crap for two weeks, finally when they did they overflowed the bowl, no flushing involved.

But back surgery is a crap shoot. I was lucky and it worked. For some it does not.

I've herd 1/3rd of the time it works great, 1/3rd of the time it does nothing, and 1/3rd of the time it make it worse.

For a friend of mine it did nothing, at least it didn't make it worse.
