Should I switch from 10 to 11? I don't want to mess up what I am used to. Is it real different? Are there advantages to 11?

They move the start button to the middle of the bottom bar. If you are used to 10 you shouldn't have any issues. The advantage is that you will continue to get security updates once windows 10 is no longer supported.

Thanks for the advice!

You can make adjustments to the Taskbar to make it look like Windows 10. They just updated to the 22H2 build and the 22H3 is supposed to come out sometime within the next month. Check out Britec09 on YouTube. He has loads of videos on how to modify Win11 among other tech tips.

I'm always afraid my hardware cannot keep up with the additional layers of fat in every version upgrade. Or the worst is some driver is no longer supported.

I've got an HP DesignJet 700 inkjet plotter that works great, but is basically a piece of furniture now because there is no Win10 (or 11) driver for it.

Same. Staying on Win 10 because I've got it working the way I want and don't want to invite a problem.

I've got an X-10 controller and modules that I use to automate the lights, especially at Christmas. The Windows program no longer worked when I went to Win 10, no upgrades available. And now it appears the controller has stopped working, but I can't connect to it to interrogate it.

Really need to build a Win 7 or XP system just to handle the old stuff.

I always keep old PCs and laptops around for that purpose.

I had too much crap, so I excessed it all. Have one old laptop still hanging around, but it needs an HDD, and not sure if I have an installable OS.

I probably have an OS installation disk laying around here. What version?
