Who is the best around the Lex Park-Hollywood-L'town area for replacing windshields these days? Wife's Rav4 just took a hit from a stone off a damned dump truck traveling the opposite direction on 249. ;-(

I had a mobile truck come to the house, they did a pretty good job. Not sure of the name... Glassman?

Isn't there a Safelite up in Prince Frederick?
Yep... Waiting to see if insurance co has anything to say who does the replacement.

Heck..maybe I'll try and do it myself here at the shop. First I'll take an 8# sledge and break out the old winder...

I've used SafeLite and Glass Works of Maryland. No complaints about either.

Update: A&M said they can't replace her windshield but since the hit has not spidered out very far, they are going to stabilize it with that special clear glue. Cheap experiment.....probably still end up getting it replaced at some point.

I've seen this work on some recent chips/cracks. I tried one of the "kits" to fix a crack in a Beetle I was trying to get through inspection and it did the trick, but the chip was old and had collected some organic matter. I could see it, because I knew it was there, but it wasn't really a bad job.

BDR Glassman off of Buck Hewitt. He has replaced several windshields for us with great results.

Wife 2015 Cherokee was the same way. Lasted an extra year that way. When it did finally go, Safelite came to the house and did it, including the calibration of the sensors. Jeep doesnt offer the original "easter egg" windshield, but the replacement did have an updated version.
