We won't get as much by way of accumulation as it's looking we will be below the snow line...

STORM HAS A POTENTIAL OF PRODUCING 4 TO 8 INCHES OF SNOWFALL BY
FRIDAY MORNING. LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS WILL BE POSSIBLE IN THE
HIGH TERRAIN.

ONCE PRECIPITATION COMES TO AN END FRIDAY MORNING...STRONG
NORTHWEST WINDS BETWEEN 15 AND 25 MPH WILL BE POSSIBLE. THESE

I agree completely. I was posting the local forecast so that folks would realize we are most likely getting ice rather than the fluffy stuff. Lara's weather alert was misleading for our area.

We had to drive in that shiat to Roanoke VA to pay my last respects to my father. We did a 360 on 460 and it scared the crap out of all of us!!!

I'm wishing for snow..........

We had 2 large tree's fall on our house, a tree just miss one car and the neighbor's vehicle slid into the other:lmao: I'm glad I can look back on it and laugh now!

The NWS in sterling virginia has issued a winter weather advisory, which is in effect from 6 pm this evening to 12 pm est Friday. The winter storm watch is no longer in effect.
A winter storm is currently taking shape across the ohio valley, and is forecast to advance into our region this evening. Snow is expected to begin in the fredericksburg area and southern maryland late this evening between 10 pm and midnight. The snow will continue overnight, heavy at times, mixed with sleet and freezing rain. A brief period of all rain is possible adjacent to the chesapeake bay over far southern maryland as temperatures may climb just above freezing. The steady accumulating precipitation is expected to come to an end between 10 am and noon Friday. A total of 2 to 4 inches of snow and sleet is expected with this storm.
A winter weather advisory means that periods of snow, sleet, or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
