Just wanted to say it was great to have so many participate this weekend! If you haven't got a chance to do some B&W pictures, feel free to go out this week and add one or two of your best to this thread!

Not that anyone will care or should, but I wanted to point out my favorites and why I liked them. These are just my favorites, there are many other very good photos posted this week!

I really like the composition of this image. The detail in the tree, the use of the rule of thirds, forground and background.....well done in my opinion!

Now these two tore me. At first I liked the record player better, then after a few seconds I liked the neckless/braclet better.....still not sure which on I like better. Both are very good!

Thanks all and keep shooting!

They were mine too.

I thought X did a great job with the perspective/angle (including the way the tree seems so massive), tonalities, and capturing "sense of place".

Nickel's were good - as I think she usually is - but the one of the chain is too similar to a photograph of some flower petals on a window sill that was posted a few months back. The flower petals were evocative and starkly beautiful, but the chain seems to be a lesser impersonator.

Thanks for putting an honest effort out there. :yay:

That was my photo also. My windowsill has very pretty afternoon light, so I often use it to photograph small images - part of my aesthetic I guess. But thank you.
