Thank you all who PM'd me with ideas this week. I got a few that I would have like to of done, but will take some more thought and much more explaining. I don't want to throw an idea out there without explaining key points and tips for those who might need it.
So this weeks will be miniatures. Pick a small item to photograph and see what you can do. Use something like a toy car, sewing items, shells, decoration, or what ever you like. Try to set up some lighting to make it easier. You may find a lamp or two to help show off your miniature. Think of it like you are shooting an advertisement for this item, and how you would want it to be seen. Post you best one or two pictures only!
This is something that any camera can do so go for it. It is also very good practice it you sell stuff on ebay or online.
Using you flash pointed straight at the item will probably be way to harsh of light. So for those with a built in flash, try to put something over the flash to diffuse the light a little and make it more pleasing. You can try things like a piece of white paper, tissue paper, plastic that is not perfectly clear, or something to soften the light.
Think about you background and try to come up with something that isn't cluttered. Use some material or paper if you just want a solid color background.
For those that want to try a step further, here are some links to building a home made light box. Cheap and easy to do, with great results!

Create an Inexpensive Light Box or Light Tent for Digital Photography
Or you can google - homemade light box or Cardboard light box and see what you come up with.
Good luck
