Wireless Printing

I have a wireless router with 5 unused LAN connections on it, looks like ethernet ports; Can I hook a regular printer to this and print 'wireless" or do I need to purchase a "wireless printer" to achieve this? Looked through some threads and didn't see the answer spelled out as I am illiterate with these things.

struggler, yes if those are ethernet ports you can connect your printers ethernet port via a cable and plug the printer into one of the ethernet ports on your router. Once you set the printer up on your wireless computer / laptop you will be able to print to that printer.

Thanks, have a couple older printers here that I may check out and see what it will take to make one usable or might just go buy a new one; seeing if it had to be wireless or not in case a new one is in my future.

Same Old Same Old
If the printer does not have an ethernet port just buy a print server or hook it up to a computer on your home network via usb and share it.

Went through 2 old printers and may have been able to get one to work after buying new cartridges and some finagling, just went ahead and got a replacement. Purchased the Epsom 845, nice all-in-one but very noisy......see a review in my future.......

Kudo's to BestBuy and I am not a BB fan; Found the printer at Staples but checked a few other places to see what each offered, Staples had a "turn-in-deal" where they would take $50 off any printer over $199. if you turned in a old printer.
Associate at BB asked if I needed help so I asked if they price matched, he got a manager and she said she could price match, BB was $199, Staples was $189 after $10 coupon and $139 after the $50 old printer rebate. BB couldn't give the $50 off for the exchange but the girl said she could give it to me for $149 which was $50 off the list, very nice of her.
Bought from BB as I didn't have to get an old printer from home and head back out......2 printers heading towards St. Andrews

Donate the old printers to SMARTCO. They can refurbish them and get them being used instead of being landfilled.

Anyone have a recommendation on a decent wireless print server? I have a D-Link but it constantly drops the printer offline. I'd rather avoid another D-Link as this one has always been a problem. I tried upgrading the BIOS only to find it wouldn't connect to my wireless network anymore unless I turned off all security. A problem I later discovered was shared with many others who owned that particular model. A new printer is out as I have a color laserjet mfp and it works just fine for what I do.

I've seen some that supposedly provide service for MFPs. Anyone have experience with those? Currently if I want to scan something I have to hook a laptop up through the USB to do it.
