Why? They didn't do anything. Apparently this was an adult woman who should know when to quit (hint: pain is a good sign it's time to give up).

People will do dump things to win contests, which this proved. Yes, she was an adult and common sense would tell you to stop when you started getting sick. But if the radio station wasn't doing a stupid stunt like this just for a Nintendo game system she probably wouldn't have lost her life. Maybe it's me - but I don't see what is so funny about "Holding Your Wee" or why somebody would want to.

No, she'd have lost her life doing some other stupid thing.

Signora, would *you* make yourself sick to the point of death just to win a gaming system?

Me either.

X-number of other people managed to stop before they died. That says it right there.

No, "I" would not participate in that type of contest just to win a gaming system. If I really wanted something that bad, I would just go buy it. It's like these reality shows where they eat bugs, etc, to win $$ - some people want to do that. To me it's not worth it. If I really wanted to win $$, I'll play the lottery or go to the casinos.

Update

A radio station fired 3 morning disc jockeys and 7 other employees Tuesday after a woman died from drinking nearly two gallons of water in a contest.

The hosts of KDND-FM's "Morning Rave" were fired a day after the station announced it was suspending the show and investigating the death of 28-year-old Jennifer Lea Strange.

She died Friday after drinking the water in an attempt to win a Nintendo Wii, competing to see who could drink the most water without going to the bathroom.

John Geary, vice president and general manager of KDND's parent company, Entercom/Sacramento, announced that 10 employees were fired.

Strange died of water intoxication, according to a preliminary autopsy. Drinking large quantities of water rapidly can cause brain swelling and lead to seizures, coma and death.

The county sheriff's office said it was not investigating.
