DON'T say it with diamonds! Women would rather get a poem or hug than expensive jewels this Valentine's Day | Mail Online

Choosing a Valentine's Day gift is always a fraught affair - but it looks like it might just be about to get easier.

While most men could be forgiven for assuming that their other halves want to be spoilt with jewellery come Thursday, a new survey has revealed that all women really want for Valentine's Day is a hug.

Given the choice, nine in ten women would choose a thoughtful, romantic gesture over a luxury gift of diamonds.

Well you can't "super size" chinese food.....I'd go with McDonald's. Hmmm then again, you could order something hot and spicy from the chinese place and tell her that's how you're love is, plus you get fortune cookies

I believe McDonalds is doing candlelight dinners with tableside service tomorrow, actually. And no I'm not kidding.

I'd rather just have the cash that the sucker was going to spend on the diamonds.

NEWS FLASH....

Given the choice, nine in ten women would answer a polling question falsely if it didn't make them appear to be superficial and materialistic. :bigwhoop:

I am not impressed nor fascinated by jewelry. Early into my marriage I actually thanked hubby when presented with jewelry but then promptly returned the jewelry explaining to him the thought was nice, but really a waste of hard earned money.
