Panel to Recommend Major Tax Law Changes

WASHINGTON (AP) - Chosen to find a simpler way to tax the nation, a presidential panel is set to recommend two designs that would rewrite virtually every tax law for individuals and businesses.

I've been reading Steve Forbes' book about his flat tax. It's been pretty inetersting so far.

The panel proposes and the tax lawyers and companies like H&R Block make contributions to various congressmen and viola, another page gets added to your tax return.
Falt tax would be the way to go, but I don't see the special interest groups letting it ever happen.

Too bad the intellectuals in D.C. can't seem to come up with the answer.

I'm thinking it'll all come down to how bad the Republicans want to keep the House and Senate next year. This is one of those issues that most Americans would get behind... except for the non-working poor anf f-them anyway!
