Ack. I won't even go to parties with large numbers of forum people I don't like. So it's outside the realm of possibility that I would spend a whole weekend camping with them. :guh:

That is why God made campers! A/C, Showers, A/C, Satellite TV, A/C, Refrigerators, A/C, Queen sized beds, A/C, Heat if you need it, A/C, Hot Water, A/C... you get the point....

Instead of meeting at a bar and drink, you do it around a campfire!

But...thats not camping. Thats moving your house to a remote location.

I'd be down if there was a spot to pitch my tent.

(in before "pitch my tent" perverse comments)

I also do tent camping with the Boy Scouts... when the family goes out we go in the camper.

I will take the camper over the tent any day of the week...

I guess...

I absolutely hate going to camp sites though...it just feels so....wrong.

I go camping to get out with nature. Not to sit on a park bench, along a circular road, with a 20' camper next door streaming cable and a satellite on the roof.

Last time I went "camping" at a campground, I had to go BUY wood for a fire because every inch of ground within a mile had already been picked clean.

My brother is the same way - he takes offense when he goes to a campsite and they call it "primitive" - that fires him right up.

A lot of the campgrounds now isolate tent campers from trailers because of what you are saying - you do not want to be next to a camper...

How about Take it Easy Campground in St. Mary's. its secluded and nicely wooded and clean. There is an inground pool for the kids to enjoy. it used to be a biker hangout but new owners have it and they have cleaned it up.

You know when Hoover and I first bought our camper, we took it there on the first trip to shake any bugs out of it, and learn how to set it up...

We are going to return to that place with friends and just hang out for the weekend and party.

It really is not a bad place - short drive, clean, has a pool, stores close by, people could drop by... I would bet if we had enough of us reserve and told them who we were, what we were doing, they would block off an area.

:lmao: I spent 2 weeks there in a pop-up when i first moved down here, before my house was ready. It was the worst 2 weeks camping I had ever done. Daytime temps over 100, nightime never dropped below 85, 100% humid, really bad t-storms almost daily, and right in the flight path of EA-6B testing....

And did either one of us even THINK to bail and go to a motel ???? NNNNOOOOoooooo........... buffer overload at that point. New jobs for both of us, new house that wasn't ready, old house that wasn't selling.... Oi.

Stayed there last fall! Nice quiet place to swim, ride bikes and catch fish!

So we are not the only crazies who admit to camping in St. Mary's! :lmao:

I was pleasantly surprised at the place. You cannot get tooooo rowdy, but you can drink and have fun.

Years ago, it had a bad reputation for being a biker hangout  That is what we heard, but new owners took the place over, dumped some money into it and it is what it is...
