:yeahthat: I try very hard to not be racist and not to generalize a race off of a few's actions, etc. But I must agree with this.

My Dad does commercial and residentail electrical work in MD, VA and DC. He was speaking to a customer in DC (who happened to be black) about the neighborhood. The customer was saying how he wants to move out to the country because of all the Mexicans moving in - The kids are tearing up the neighborhood, the crime rates are rising and its just not a nice place to live anymore.

My Dad said "Now you know how the white folks felt when the blacks all moved into (and took over) DC."

:killingme I was like HOLY SHYT Dad! You cant say that LOL! Supposedly the customer was kinda of shocked that my Dad said it, but laughed and said "I see your point."

I try hard not to be racist either, I will give everyone a chance, your true colors will show sooner or later. What your father said was the first thought that came to my mind before I finished reading, your father said that very well LOL. So now the blks are being pushed out, then the mexicans will be pushed out by the philipinos. Its a cycle, so where do you go? The US needs to change its name to the United MEXMERICA.

so what your saying is that its a class issue, well im in the governments mind consider low class, I live in income based housing, and have no kids but my bf and I just happened to not make as much as some people but that doesn’t mean we are trashy just because we are “low class” I am not disrespectful like some people which is what this WHOLE post is about which is respect its not a race thing it’s a RESPECT thing but the OP did kind of turn into the race department which it shouldn’t have gone.

Im sure they didnt mean "class" as what the government considers you to be based on income. Im sure they mean the "class" in how you act, as in how "classy" you are.

o0o0o this is fun. Such hostility

I will say this: I will associate with very few blacks in the county because I get along with very few. But those who I do get along with, are respecteful, well-spoken people and therefore I cannot agree with the OP's suggestion of bars weeding out the "trouble" based on race. I've seen many a car fight started by a white guy.

Now, on the other hand of my associating with very few blacks - there are some whites in the county I will not associate myself with because of their racism, etc. I just like and get along with "normal" people... regardless of race.

I feel like you are unfortunately generalizing the black race in Calvert County – never generalize. As far as the “goon’s” friend leaving her there, maybe they were “classier” than she was. That right there busts the reasoning behind your generalization. As far as the blacks in Calvert having a racist attitude… Honey, you’re going to find that everywhere. I’ve worked in DC, New Carrolton, and now Bethesda. I’ve caught the metro in Largo, New Carrolton and Suitland countless times… I cant even begin to tell you about the dirty looks I get for being the only white woman (white person, for that matter) on the train. Racism is everywhere, not just in Calvert County. And not all black in CC have that attitude. Just like not all whites in CC (or anywhere else) are racist (or not).

I HATE that. I hate being stared at (no matter the race of the guy doing the staring) for longer than what can be considered flattering. I hate the “shorty” comments, etc. I hate it when I get scoped out head to toe especially with my boyfriend at my side. It is disrespectful to me and to him. I will note, however, that I normally find that black males do this more than any other race. So when I voice my distaste for their actions/comments, they pull the race card and get mad at me. Jeez… its ridiculous. A few months back I was at McDonalds in Chesapeake Beach (not my fav place but I live there so its convenient). The guy who rung me up, black male around the age of 18-20, followed me outside and asked for my number. I smiled and said “Aww thank you, but I don’t think my boyfriend would be too fond of me giving out my number.” I thought that may do the trick, as it usually does with respectful guys. But not this one! He was like “He don’t have to know.” I got kinda pissy and said “Uhhh, well my boyfriend just so happens to be the father of the child I am carrying so actually, you’re just plain not getting my number.” He got all sarcastic and said “So you think he’ll be a good Dad or somethin?” I got sooo angry (Im blaming the hormones at the time LOL)… I came at his so fast, got right up in his face and said “You think you’ll do better?! Boy, you’re a KID who works at McDonalds! You need to adjust your respect level for women and learn to take a HINT.” He was like “Its cause Im black aint it?” I was so mad I coudltn even speak – I just shook my head, muttered to myself, walked to my car and stuffed my face with my hot fudge sundae with extra hot fudge (lol)

Yo SHAWTY, I just got a part time job at the car wash, so when I am done working at Mcdonalds I can bring you a BigMac, you can sit in the car and eat it while I wash the car for you, now that is how you take care of a lady.

Race is a scapegoat. It's an easy excuse, a way to be intellectually lazy and perceive the world in a binary manner- black and white, north and south. All races use it when it's convenient for them. And many, not all, blacks use it to their advantage because they can, they have been raised to believe it's ok to do so. Yet whites, Asians, hispanics, etc. all use race as a scapegoat too, just to varying degrees through different methodologies. Race is just the first thing people notice and the easiest common denominator to identify, which is why it's such an easy way out.

However, normally the real explanations lie in harder to identify, more complex factors and issues with non-trivial solutions. Looking at culture and environment is often more reflective than race. For example, you refer to in your post about how some black men treat women and how some black men view family. I was raised to respect women and most would probably say I stare too little for my own good. I am not white, so as you say, it's less about race and more about value system. The values and behaviors are usually never mutually exclusive to any one race or society. However, race can be useful if we only use it as a starting point.

Bill Cosby sums of anything I can say on the particular issue on how some black men are raised to view women and family. Which I won't get into because like you, I do not know many black men and women, but those black men and women I do know well are respectful, successful, educated, and share my similar value systems.

If one were to go to Asia they'd find that Asian societies are very racist compared to the US. They treat other non-Asian races, and even different kind of Asians very differently. Not allows in a discriminatory manner that disadvantages a race, but sometimes its an advantage. For instance, if a white American were to go teach English in Korea or Japan, they would find they are held to a different standard of work ethic than their Asian counterparts. Even though I am ethnically Asian, adopted, and raised by white Americans since infancy, I would be expected to work just as hard as a Korean born and raised there. It's interesting because while we have our type of affirmative action here in the US for minorities, Asian countries have it as well. If you aren't white or black and apply to teach English in an Asian country, the likely hood of you getting hired is significantly smaller.

When it comes down to it, the racial diversity in Asian countries is so little, yet when you look at such racially homogeneous societies, they all have subsets of their population that share similar beliefs and types of people that are found anywhere else. It's just a matter of how prevalent such views are within a society. There will always be outliers and variance. The only way race will ever stop being a factor is the day that there is no such thing as racial purity; everyone is of mixed race; a global melting pot race. Until then, race will always be a focal point obfuscating the real social and cultural issues that provide the foundation of our prejudices.

I may rail against racists, but I am not without prejudice. For instance, I'm working on being better at not generalizing those of faith (any organized religion). I am guilty of purposely making statements that belittle such people because of a few bad eggs. The point being, noone is without prejudice. We can only work on learning to seeing the world through a less prejudicial lens.

Fishn Guy

That's Dr. Fishn to you..
So I went out to Tiki bar this weekend. It was a nice crowd, I was enjoying myself, when all of a sudden, the only black girl at the tiki bar tries to pick a fight with this really attractive caucasian chic.I am standing there and I see this black girl inching up behind this lady, and then she tells the lady that she "needs to move her hair out of her way".Now from what I could see, the lady was not in anyone's way, but she did have really long, gorgeous hair.
So the lady turns around and says excuse me? And the black thing goes on to say, B**** this, I'll whup you, this , that, whatever. So the lady turned around so her back was'nt to the goons and the goon shut up. I think the goon was barking up the wrong tree, because the lady looked like she would have won the fight. And then her male friends told her to shut the F*** up and stop starting trouble. So then, the goons friends left her there. I guess they were humiliated by how ignorant she acted.
So I am still observing and the ugly little thing is giving the pretty lady evil looks and just being the piece of classless trash she is. My question is why do these ignorant, homely little ghetto pieces of trash go out, to try to fight females that are more attractive?Has anyone noticed that black folks in Calvert county have a racist attitude toward white folks? I was like, geez, I go to the Tiki bar to avoid the trashy crowd and the only cockroach in the joint is trying to start trouble.Thank goodness I don't see many pieces of trash at the tiki bar, it is usually a bright, merry scene, if you know what I mean?
Anyway, she was so loud that the bartenders heard her, why was'nt she asked to leave? I think that tiki bar should not allow that ghetto crowd in, they just start trouble. Perhaps if they see a group(2 or more) of those b***** they should tell them they are at capacity for the night. A girlfriend of mine told me that some black girls were fighting at another local club. The way they carry themselves is sad, they shouldn't let them in.

I agree, I believe the "element" should be disposed of appropriately...

I guess we all should be glad that we don't carry the mentality of the Western Worlds and try to exterminate each other. Good point brought up about behavior in here, that pretty much determines whether you will be labeled as, redneck, ignorant blk, ignorant wht etc. Grew up in a racist area, its been many years and it is still that way today, just a few years ago I was visiting home sitting in a car at night with my brother and some people drove by in a truck shouting the N word. parents aging mid 60s and live alone, what brave men they were. Would have been funny if they came in the yard not knowing the two of us were sitting in the car.

The girl from the Tiki bar, perfect example of behavioral issues.

What makes the original post racist bullchit is that the poster felt the need to identify the two women by race.

Girl #1 would have still been a jerk if she'd been white, Asian, Hispanic, whatever. There was no need to point out that she was black because it has nothing to do with the story, unless the point was that black women are combative ghetto thugs.

So OP's intent was in fact to paint black women - ALL black women - as ghetto. And since people who get out more know that is not true, that would make OP a redneck bigot idiot.

Pretty simple deduction there.

People always make it a point to say what color the person was. Just think how dead this thread would have been buy now if he did not.

NOT Politically Correct!!
What B/S, recount what one fool did regardless of race and don't try and spin this into what it's not. The Tiki bar is not a WHITE hangout and don't try and spin this into some race debate, I've seen more trouble caused by caucasian at the Tiki bar than blacks and that's a FACT!!! Dumb Biatch...:coffee:

I don't base my hate/dislike on the race of a person. I base it on how stupid, arrogant, ignorant, and retarted they are.
