Nothing. Wth, is right. I am so sick of hearing about this issue that should not be discussed in school. It is a private matter for families. I am very surprised this crap has infiltrated SoMD. Ridiculous. My children grad in 2004 and 08. This was never an issue when they were in school. Your concern is warranted. I am sure members are glad you let them know what is going on.

Unless this is leading up to a paper where you choose a side and defend your position, this belongs in a psychology or contemporary issues class, but even then i would not waste too much oxygen when there are more important issues to discuss and learn about.Or a Liberal.

Yesterday was only Day 3 of school so not sure what this topic is leading up to but the teacher is apparently doing a whole "unit" on it.

If it were my child, I'd start with the principal and work my way up to the BOE. This is not something that should be taught in English class. If you don't mind my asking, what grade is your son in?

This doesn't surprise me at all. Common Core. They will continue to gradually implement stuff like this into the curriculum, gradually phasing out parental involvement, brainwash and turn our kids against us. They're already grilling our kids for personal family information, like gun ownership, and I can only imagine what else the gestapo wants to know. It's all part of the NWO agenda. And since I have the little forum commies on iggy...lolz.

I am just sick to death of the propaganda being shoved down the throats of our children. The whole LGBT thing is one that should be explained and discussed at home, not in a classroom, especially in a 10th grade English class. I am so glad my kids are grown and didn't have to worry about this, but, I have two granddaughters in school and that just worries the hell out of me.

"Only" as in so far, keeping in mind they are on Day 4 of school. It's Honor's English and I'm hoping the entire class isn't really only about these topic but that's what we hear about at the dinner table. Son just hopes the teacher doesn't call on him about it or they will get an earful.
Clearly you don't have kids in the school system. Those planning guides are just that - guides. Teachers can actually do pretty much what they want. Otherwise why would this teacher be blathering her personal social agenda instead of, you know, teaching English?
Peer pressure is an ugly thing.

Do you know any of his classmates' parents? I'm absolutely positive you're not alone in your concern.
Man, I spent so much time bitching to the middle school and high school principals about what these "teachers" are wasting their class time on, trying to indoctrinate my kids with their ignorant political and social agendas, I figured they cringed when they saw my name on their messages. But nope - I was far from alone. The office lady said that the phones were blowing up and that's why the AsstPrince wouldn't be able to return my call right away.
