Short version: The XBOX 360 S (Slim) crapped out a few weeks ago. So Troubleshot using MS guide and replaced the "powerbrick". No go.
So then shopped around (new vrs reconditioned, prices, etc) and decided it was cheaper to repair it via Xbox support online (IIRC ~ $90).
I look at where it's point of origin was from on the fedex website... Zapopan, JA MX
And as I'm typing this the FEDEX truck shows up for delivery...

So after some investigating it looks like Microsoft ships the units to Laredo, TX center, puts them on a truck to Mexico. Then they are shipped to this repair facility in Mexico and a couple weeks later sent back on a truck to Laredo, where it is shipped back out.
Cheap labor. I get it. Thought it was interesting and would share. Attached is a photo of the box stamp from Mexico if you want proof.
Side note: This console looks brand new. No dust ANYWHERE. The scratches I put on the case from opening it up to attempt to clean the fan and heat sink are not there (out of warranty). The serial number still matches, so I'm wondering if they just gave me a new console, with a matching serial number sticker, and transferred the memory over. Well, I'm hoping they transferred the memory over... time to go hook it up...
