XM/Sirius merger

What?!
I've been listening to Squizz/Octane all evening and they sure are talking alot more then what they normally did on Squizz. I hope this is just because of the recent merger and goes away quickly.

My sis is t-totally pizzed... she is beyond pizzed... that they took Fungus away. I fact, she's giving me all her XM stuff and has invested in some new thingy that allows her to download hours upon hours of internet radio a portable player that can be used pretty much anywhere.

They changed all the stinking channel names the other day so I have no idea what is on any given channel anymore. I'm not sure what is with the stupid names. Things like top tracks was easy to figure out at least. Now many have names that have nothing to do with the content.

I was in the car listening to Squizz when they did the switch to Octane...right in the middle of a song on Squizz and into a commercial on Octane. I would have thought that they'd have a DJ on both channels and do a little countdown to the change-over. And why did they keep the Octane name instead of the Squizz name? Squizz is a much better name. It's undefined, so you can have fun with it and give it various meanings depending on the context...which XM did all the time. Octane is...octane  So far, I've heard the commercial for the extreme sports channel with Tony Hawk twice. :boo:

While I think it is BS that they have merged (you know, Monolopy in all), but I think that XM 53 will be back on (forget what channel) once the new year is here and the all AC/DC station is gone.
Hate to say it, but I think XM got the better end of the stick. One thing I disliked about XM was so many pop stations. I like XM 23/24/25/26/29 and 30, but in reality 25 and 26 play silimar music, just like 23 and 24 does.
The rest of the stations there is enough difference to keep them on (like 44/47 and 46/49).
Will new SATRAD people just have the one option of Sirius or will they have the opition of XMSirius?

As a long time Sirius subscriber, it looks like you XM guys made out. I picked up a few new channels that I'll probably never listen to, and they changed one I do listen to somewhat regularly.(I liked the 60's channel except when Cousin Brucie was on:barf: ) If I want "The Best of XM" I have to pay extra, NO THANKS. I can live without Oprah, the PGA tour (nothing more exciting than golf on the radio) I never listened to Opie and Anthony in the first place (don't listen to Howard Stern either)

And I don't want the "Best of Sirius" package they keep advertising and sending EMAIL on. As I said, I picked XM because I wanted XM, not Sirius.

But, the market is not growing and they were forced to merge. Hate to give up Satelite radio since nothing good on terestrial radio anymore in St. Mary's County.
