Tampa fired Schiano and the GM Dominik.

I hope they bring in Lovie Smith or Jay Gruden.

Hell, bring Chuckie back!!!!

Lovie will end up in Tampa.

Tony Dungy endorsed it (if that means anything).

Lovie is supposedly interested so we'll see.

I just wonder if they can bring back Rich McKay from Atlanta to be GM.

There's also talks of these guys as Head coaches:
Greg Roman
Ken Wisenhunt

for GM:
Eric Stokes
Shelton Quarles

Eric Stokes has the best chance, IMO.

He already does, thats the skins problem.
Hopefully Danny boy will sell the team to someone who knows how to be a true owner of a professonal football team. Yea he has made millions off the team, but he still does not have his Super Bowl Ring. Some day he will realize that is something you earn, not buy

Did she offer a rationale as to why he would want to work here?

I'm not a fan of hiring guys who have already done it for two reasons; once you've done it, you've climbed that mountain. Name me a head coach who won super bowls somewhere else after winning, as head coach, at a prior team. There isn't one. Not one. Vermeil got there with different teams, but had lost prior to the Rams. That's it.

And, two, once you've done it, everyone knows what you did and how you did it. You're no longer the hungry, young innovator coming up with the new angle, the new way to beat the old way.

The Redskins are just not oriented towards winning. Snyder would like to but, what he knows how to do it market and promote and that is the one thing the Washington Redskins haven't needed in over 40 years.

:buddies:

Pioli "hasn't done it on his own". He's Parcells' son-in-law and he "shared" the duties with Belichick. So I imagine he would like to remove the minor stigma of that.

Oh HELL NO!!! You're not going to take one of my favorite coaches and put him with a ####ty team that I hate. Nope.

:yahoo:

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers seem to be closing in on a top candidate for their head coaching vacancy, and it looks like a great hire on paper, especially if he can assemble the strong staff that he is expected to bring with him. Former Chicago Bears head coach Lovie Smith has been heavily linked to the Buccaneers head coaching gig ever since the Bucs canned Greg Schiano, and the rumors have only become stronger. There is plenty of mutual interest, as Smith really likes the Buccaneers organization, and the Bucs seem to be just as high on him.

If Smith were hired, then the National Football Post’s Jason Cole reported yesterday that he would bring Jeff Tedford, Tony Sparano, Leslie Frazier, and Rod Marinelli with him to his new team. That’s a great group of head coaches, with only Tedford, who most recently was the head coach of Cal, as a question mark.

Lovie Smith will interview with Tampa Bay Buccaneers - NFL Spin Zone - A General NFL Blog providing you all the NFL News, Rumors, Updates, and National Football League News.

It's still early, and there's talks of Gary Kubiak also, but Lovie has solid ties to the Bucs.
