Iv'e had it since Christmas, I can get around, but I still hate it. You would think they would improve on a system not devolve. I guess they made it for touch screen but I don't see how it woud be easier to navigate on that either.:cds:

I think you're right, my daughter got a touch screen with Windows 8 and she loves it, she says it's very easy to operate.

After a few hours I found my way to desktop and I can open more than one internet website... They need to include better directions or something. LOL! I figured it out though. :buddies: I'm not a fan, but I can function somewhat again. Thanks!!

Used to be a big Microsoft fan, not so much anymore. Think they are going downhill big time . Vista sucked, not a big Win 7 fan but can deal with it, Win 8 and i think they lose more customers.

It's like an OS for the people that need a cash register with product pictures instead of numbers

My new laptop has W8 as well. I have not had any problems yet. You have to go to the desktop app on the metro/opening screen when you turn on the computer, then you click the internet explorer button on the bottom of the screen as you would with WIN7, from there you will be able to open additional tabs on the same screen.

Thanks! I found it very hard to navigate around... I got new laptoptoday because other one was crapping out and unable to connect to internet for a few weeks... it was a wrestling match (off, on.. more off than on, login..... logout.. try again.. off, try again... online... oops booted off again... restart computer, etc..)... tonight... same issue with brand new laptop... I called Sprint- my carrier... apparently they have a tower issue for 3G service in this area since 1st of February... and will be resolved by 28th... I was soo pizzed! I bought a brand new laptop over this thinking problem was on my end...ugh!! :cussing:

There's a good article on CNET.com that explains a lot of shortcuts, etc. to make Windows 8 easier to get used to. I've had it for a month and really like it.

Takes a little getting used to, but for a lot of things it's much easier than previous Windows versions.

IMHO.

You can always take the laptop back. You'll just have restore it to factory settings first. I certainly would be requesting some sort of refund or credit from Sprint though.
